Barton Simmons has to be kicking himself right about now. On another note, how have Joe Davis and "Backfield in Motion" not been brought into the discussion?

Im so sick of seeing our alumni bad mouth the school and team this year. Might be a down year but they have played well recently and still have a shot in the playoffs. Quit harping on the past or go join Dan, Bill and Barton and continue to belly ache. No body is listening anymore. Roll Red.

Jeff Rutledge won more state titles than McGugin has and Gioia threw him out without hesitation. C'mon, Twin. We are talking about allegations that have never ever been placed on MBA. You were the first to deny any rumor about the situation at all. Now look where we are. Our school is getting dragged through the mud. I am not saying that Dan is the only one at the center of this. Personally I think the AD Scott O'Neal was a joke of a hire in the first place. Trust me, you will still be able to attend all the football and lax games that you and your brother desire even if McGugin is not there.

Even if CM does get let off the hook here he will be in for a world of criticism after this blows over. One bad season or a few more losses to Ensworth and he'll be selling insurance with his brother. Barton hasn't helped his cause by coming on here and placing the blame on someone else. McGugin's family ties to the school will make this a tougher decision for Gioia than the Rutledge situation. I think this is the reason for the delay in making a decision. CM has been fed from a silver spoon his whole life but Gioia is afraid of who will swing first if he tries to remove it. Should be an easy decision for Gioia and the Board if they have any concern over the future integrity of the school. Embarrassed Graduate

huge loss for mba. this will make mcgugin sorry he scheduled that espn game next fall. bowers will beat the big red next year and ensworth will reign over d2 for yrs to come....

all i am saying is that you don't see as many fball players at mba playing multiple sports like when rutledge and bowers were there. i know for a fact that simpson and jay jenkins push for their wrestlers to compete on the football field as well as other sports. most of these football coaches have no experience on the wrestling mat. trust me redmatfan, i am a big red fan and i know exactly what i am talking about. i have watched too many kids at mba walk away from sports to concentrate on football and it makes me sick to see that out of a kid in high school.

mba has had some pretty good football/wrestlers the past few years. they may not have been state champs, but they were state medlaists and helped the team and the practce room atmosphere. the team from two years ago had andy snyder, michael swett and allen riley (all contributors on the fball team as well). if i recall, riley and swett both play college fball (one at university of the south and the other at hampton university). snyder was a mr. football finalist his senior year. something is going on over at mba and i'm afraid these kids are being told not to wrestle anymore. i wont name any names, but i'm afraid the new fball staff has had something to do with it and are not making any friends with big red wrestling alumni...

what were the results of this match last year? i know mba lost a lot of seniors i just wanted to compare the two lineups

MBA had a pretty solid fat four with Tate, Jacques, Swett and Riley but they have some impressive younger guys who will fill in well. MBA's strength will be their lower weights with Mark Simpson, Francis, JM Simpson and Sutter leading the way

Cordell couldn't make the grades and he got into some off the field issues at the end of last season....he was definitely not the best

Not surprised...Rutledge has been known to go off on a rampage...sometimes at his own players....it's sad to see him cost the game for his players

Wes, That was a daunting task last year...even with Kottas at WR..BA will have to have someone who can somewhat handle the ball behind center..something they lacked last year

my senior season was recently ended by this cowardly motion. Anyone who cut/chop blocks outside of the tackle box in high school shouldn't be on the field. They should be on the debate team because they have no balls. And any coach or team that teaches this as an official method is weak.
