panther and ad15: falvo i love you: ANY HIGHSCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM WITH ONLY 2 PLAYERS THAT ARE GOOD GUARDS - DRIBBLING AND PASSING - HOLDING THE BALL IS NOT THAT HARD...HAND OFFS, PASSES OVER THE TOP....IF YOU BRING 3 GUYS OUT FOR THE STEAL THE GUYS THAT HAVE THE BALL IN THEIR HANDS WILL BE GOOD ENOUGH TO FIND THE OPEN GUY FOR A LAYUP

I DONT THINK ITS FUN WHEN YOU TRY TO HOLD THE BALL FOR 2 MINUTES IN THE FIRST HALF....I WATCH A TEAM WHERE INSTEAD OF RUNNING AROUND AND CHASING THEM - EVEN THO THEY HAVE 2 EXTREMELY QUICK DEFENDERS WOULD RATHER LET THE CROWD BOOOO AND SIT THERE AT THE 3PT LINE AND STARE AT THE PT GUARD WHO IS STANDING THERE WITH THE BALL AT HIS HIP 3 FEET INSIDE HALF COURT.......there is nothing better than listening to a bored booing crowd

there definitely needs to be like a 45 second shot clock in hs bball, it ticks me off when a team runs out the clock for like 2 1/2 minutes, it is ridiculous there especially needs to be one for the girls, dear god, i have only been two 2 girls games worth watching, i have seen girls games where both teams were single digits at halftime, the rest were terrible and ive caught the second half of dozens waiting for the guys game

sorry for bringing up girls bball on the mens bball post but i had to do it

Pay attention when you goto a high school game. A team cannot wait more then 25 seconds to shoot the ball, because they do not have the discipline to do it. The only time a shot clock will be a factor is if:

The ball keeps getting deflected and time runs out. also...Or at the end of a game when a team tries to sit on the ball, Also, This will cut down of people waiting to take the last shot with a 1:30 to go in the first quarter and for this reason we do need a shot clock. All other times it wont even come into play.

I think that the shot clock should be placed into the highschool game. You have teams that are pretty good but when it comes to them playing teams that are athletically better than they are and when it comes down to crunch time they will stand around and play stall ball. That's not what the game of basketball is for. Your not supposed to play 28 minutes of hard fought basketball and then waste the last 4 minutes just because you are afraid. If the shot clock were to be put in then you can't play stall ball and for a player it makes the game more fun.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
