DII duals predictions

Here's how I see it. The loser of MBA/Notre Dame will face CBHS, and the winner of that match will go to the consolation finals. The winner of Father Ryan/Baylor will obviously go to the finals, and the loser should stroll to the consolation finals to meet the winner of the first situation. This sounds strange, but think about it...it would be better for MBA or Notre Dame to lose in the first round. That way, they will face CBHS to get into placement contention. If they win the first round, they will get destroyed by McCallie, and they will switch to the opposite side of the consolation bracket with the loser between Father Ryan and Baylor. That's the only glitch. Otherwise, it looks like a good draw (I doubt it was totally blind). So there you go MBA and Notre Dame. The first round's game plan is to lose. I think McCallie and CBHS got a good draw and MBA and Notre Dame got a bad draw. Some might think that Baylor and Father Ryan should not meet in the first round, but I don't think it really matters. McCallie has already beaten Baylor, so they deserve to get an easy road to the finals. Father Ryan still needs to prove themselves against one of the other two best teams (McCallie and Baylor). I like it. Everyone get ready. It's the moooooost wonderful time of the year. (Is that blasphemy?)

BOTW:

I agree with your analysis and you propose an interesting strategy; however, there is one major flaw: head-to-head results during the state duals can be used in the seeding process at the traditional state tournament. Therefore, both MBA and ND (and most other teams) will have to put there full line-up on the mat in order to get the match-ups required to obtain the highest seeding possible for their wrestlers; especially since teams like MBA and ND never wrestle during the regular season.

b.o.t.w., you propose something that guys like you and me would do for what appears to be better placement down the road. but you know the coaches wouldn't do it, so they'll feel they're in a no lose situation; win, you advance; lose, you'll possibly get better placement in the long run.

OK my people lets make it clear McCallie will dominate duals. The only chance that has a chance is father ryan and baylor. I dont know about father ryan but I know Mccallie will beat baylor with sheer toughness. We have so many guys who are tougher than the likes of Jake Geismar and houston Holt. I cant wait for the Nick Moore Houston Holt matchup again.

Obviously you didn't see Geismer's match with Dunning at McCallie. How can you say that kid isn't tough?

Just for clarification, I was never suggesting or proposing that either team intentionally lose the match. I was just making everyone aware of the situation. I would be pitiful to throw a match, just to get the chance for 4th place. Also, if CBHS switched positions with Baylor or Father Ryan, the problem would be solved. Baylor and Ryan would the the semis and the winner of ND and MBA would have CBHS for consolation semis. The loser would have the loser of Ryan and Baylor. Too bad the draw is "blind".
