I agree with thestuff. Also you can't block out someone who is already in the air and you can't block out on a lob either. If you don't want someone to dunk then beat them to the spot before they jump. Taking out someone who has the potential to pay for his college with his ability, maybe taking that away from him is not part of the game, or not a physical part of basketball or in good sportsmanship either.

Exactly showstopper, he has the right to his space, including above and below when he goes for a lob...it is not over the back when he is in the air and someone backs into him. That was obviously the game plan, because it happened time and time again. And how, if anyone knows, did Curfman get a gash on his head that bled so badly. Must have scratched himself cause there wasnt a foul called.

again, if you watch the game and pay attention, the play when sparkman tried to dunk in question was not a push with two hands in the back. the fariview player did foul him, but slapping at the ball and getting a small piece of the ball, according to the offended player after the game. how can you say that one player has a right to catch a lob pass and not another? if a player is backing up to catch a lob and the other player runs in to dunk the ball, how can that be undercutting? Why would it not be called over the back if the defend has position to catch the pass( which was the case last night on every occassion). The refs, just like the ignorant fan, only sees a chance for a dunk and not the play for what it actually was. Lewis County fans see things in a bias way. What would you be saying if it was sparkman going to defend a pass and Tyler Smith was jumping to dunk? I know what you would say, the refs let tyler get away with everything and never call anything like that, and it would be whining as usual from the so called fans in Lewis County.

When we played Giles Co at home in what was a dunkfest for the 2nd half Tyler went up for an oop and Jeff simply went up in front of him and caught it. He didn't try to take his legs out or anything else like that. I doubt Jeff likes Tyler much because they have become pretty good rivals over the last two years but I know Jeff would never try to take him out or anybody else. The first time it happened and Jeff went down hard and hurt his hip I didn't really think it was intentional, I thought a couple of them just got their legs tangled up but like thestuff said with around 40 seconds left Jeff was all alone when the guy pushed him from behind. I still don't see how you can throw a man out for yelling, he wasn't cussing or threatening anybody, that was just stupid. Hey wats up jacketpride21? Why are you mad man? Everything I said was true. ;)

Again, if you watch the game and pay attention, you will notice that the 2 hands in the back were closer to the balls of Sparkmans feet than to the ball on its way to the rim. As for the fan, goldenboy, I would normally try to side with you but I see it a little different. I dont have a problem with fans coming in and cheering and even giving the refs the business every now and then, God knows that I have done my share, but sometimes it gets out of hand and gets carried a bit far. Some peoples voices are louder and some of the remarks come at bad times. And, at times, especially with the right officials, it can do more harm than good for the team. Not to necessarily defend the Lewis Co. fan, but there were some fans on the second row across from the scorers table that got a little carried away as well during the girls' game, one even jumped down to the floor after a hard foul at midcourt, but I dont remember her being approached about it, much less escorted out.

speaking of sparkman................what is jeff averaging? he should be getting 22 points every game?!!! i saw him play at the first of the year, and his teammates didn't even try to give him the ball...if they did get it inside to him, he would pass it off....what's up with that? can he do anything besides dunk? there is more to basketball than dunking....

first of all, lets get some things straight. We will start with the Fairview-NCS game. No technical was called for the kid bleeding on the court, the ref did not know there was blood and tried to start the game back.  If the kid didn't want to get hit he should not have put his nose close enough to get hit, and the player who went down from the elbow actually was kicked in the side of the head by a NCS player while he was on the ground, film doesn't lie, but I will agree that things should not have been thrown on the court. Reading post and watching games this year, I think it is funny that when NCS players do things it is ok, but when it happens to them they cry like the babies they are.

At the Lewis-Fairview game, the fan was warned twice to stop and then was escorted out. As for undercutting a player, if you knew anything about basketball you would not say anything about undercutting. More then once Lewis Co tried to throw lob passes to Sparkman, and the Fairview player reacted to the lob like a rebound, blocked Sparkman out and tried to grab the ball. If the refs were any good, they would have called over the back on Sparkman, which is the correct call. Basketball is a game of pride, if a player goes to dunk, he should expect some contact for the other team. This is not the NBA where you are expected to move out of the way and let some one have a free shot to dunk, if I remember right, there is a thing called a charge, which should have been called more last night in the game. So Lewis Co won the game, by 11pts, so they get mad they didnt win by more over the lowly Fairivew team, and Fairview played a physical game so Lewis Co must find something to whine about, again.

You're right. The kid should've just backed off and let big soft punk score, because if not he might catch an elbow. With that kind of coaching you could possibly give up about 100 points a game under the basket, but hey man, its the thought that counts....good try. Maybe the kid from Fairview did get kicked while he was down. He should be glad he's still walking. I'm not really whining or anything, i mean #52 for NCS came back out and was fine, and then Fairview's big guy got over aggressive and got the ball snatched away from him by NCS's 5'9" running back, ducking big softy's elbow this time around. But hey, say what you want. I'd be making dumb points too if my team got beat twice by some 1A christian school and was down by 25 in the 4th at their place...

You know i had nothing but respect for goldenboy before this post. Now i realize that your no better than those sorry ncs people always whining and complaining about something. Find something better to do than trash talk Fairview, and if im correct the name of this thread is Lewis and Fairview, nothing about NCS so get a life. Oh yea you know they teach you when your a little kid not to play defense with your nose haha that 52 for ncs stuck his nose where it dont belong, and all the Fairview player did was chin the ball like your taught.

Just because the big guy has too much blood in his face doesn't mean he has to try and take some from our's... Rosy Cheeks obviously was trying to throw an elbow as he did it a 2nd time before NASTY NAKKA took the ball from him and then made him look bad by dodging an elbow. Then dude got T'd up so at that time everything was going doowwwnnnhiiill for Fairview. Those physical, country Fairview boys sure showed them bellevue thugs..... :D

The only reason i posted was to sympathize a little with goldenboy about the play of Fairview's boys. I wasn't trying to whine or complain, only share a similar view about their lack of integrity. Sorry if anyone was offended, or if your team got beat twice by NCS.

And in case there was any confusion, i would just like to point out that Fairview did in fact lose to Nashville Christian School two times. Yes, two times. Thank you.

The only reason I posted on this thread is because I felt goldenboy on what he was saying. Ive had about enough of redneck fans the last two weeks between Fairviews fans throwing stuff on the floor, cheering when someone gets their nose busted and McEwen fans making racisit signs. I just hope all you angry and racisit fans know that Jesus still loves you just as much as he loves everyone else. Dont get down on yourself because the only place to hang out around your town is McDonalds (I dont even think McEwen has one of them). Everything will be okay.

For all you idiots that think all jeff does is dunk.Jeff averages about point 2 dunks per game.He may be kind of lazy but he is one of the top reasons LC is a good team.Jeff gets almost all of his points from 5-15 ft out.He thinks about his team first and not stats,he's the type of guy that would rather score 10 pts and win that 30 and lose.I think the entire top 7 on LC is that way.Everyone should take up on the things a TEAM does not one person.
