Warfield has had a better season this year with his health than last year. You are correct, he did have asthmatic incident during the Science Hill match, but this was the first such attack for the entire season to date. With this being said, the family, coaches and health care professionals have evidently found something that works for this athlete. He went on to do well against the Collierville wrestler!

BOTW - Warfield has only been beat by 3 state champions (Simpson, Cordell & Ibram) this year. In regard to the Science Hill wrestler, he is a Region Champion for that area. Please do not disrespect this young athlete or team, they have a great program in Science Hill! They have always had a great program and put on a great competition.

Good gosh, if you mean to say that Warfield was expected to beat an unranked kid that didn't win a match at states last year by 2, you are mistaken. I'm not disrespecting anyone, but you are definitely trying to put words in my mouth. I know that there are some talented wrestlers at 119 in region 5, and Warfield needs to wrestle pretty well to avoid an upset. I think he'll win it. I was just saying that he looked beatable, coming off an injury. Take it easy.

BOTW - No problems, just trying to clear it up! I understand that sometimes folks put to much weight into predictions, but Science Hill has a great program and always has. That was not an easy match (or dual) to win, as you know the lead switched back and forth between the teams at least 4 times. We knew it would be close.

I'm not trying to put words into your mouth, by no means. 119 is a tough weight class across the state, because I think there are lot of kids running from 125. Several of our guys have had to take some time during the season, we were fortunate to go into the State Duals with a 'healthy' team and even luckier to come out of the event with no injuries. At this point in the season we, all teams, need to stay healthy!

Bo Usary is the kid from Science Hill. He is about 40-4 this year with 2 losses to Giesmar, 1 to a wrestler from NC and now Warfield.

As a freshman he lost to Fuller in the 1st round at state last year.

Tnranker had him as 4th this year.

Warfield is a good wrestler and it was a great match.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
