Hey Orange!! Why dont you worry bout sumthin that concerns you!! My Gosh!! Loretto has hosted the District Tourney before, and they are no smaller now than they were then!! Besides Lewis Co. doesnt have anymore seating, actually less, and they just hosted it this past year, so wuts the deal??? None of the fans, players, coaches, or students, or administrators from here can help that no one will get us a new gym!! The only thing is, none of us want a new gym!! We love "The Barn" and dont want a new one!! All we want is air conditioning!! And one more thing!! If your goin to get on a Public Forum and start crap about Loretto, why dont you get your crap together enough to be able to spell Loretto right!! That just goes to show how much you dont have a clue, or any business in this whatsoever!! But out Orange Boy!! Good day to everyone!! and Good luck to my Lady Mustangs and Mustangs!! The Barn is our house!!! ;)

Do you think Lorreto's gym is big enough. I think Ronnie Carter should call and check like he did Huntlands. Will Daniels being a TSSAA man expand their seats?

Will it be moved? Looks like we may have some small school litigation. Look how long it took them to help the small schools in football.

At 18 inches a seat I would think that Loretto has 1,250 seats. Mr. Daniels being a "TSSAA man" has nothing to do with that except that he may have made sure of the 1,250 before accepting the tourney.

It wasn't very smart of District 9AA to have the tourney at Lewis County last year

& it's just as dumb to have it at Loretto this year !!

No offense to either school. Great schools, great hosts & great atmosphere.

But if your gym's not big enough, it's not big enough !!

It wasn't such a bad idea a few years back to let the smaller schools in the

district host the first round games & then move the semis & the finals to one

of the larger gyms for the finals.

If there was a competitive boys field like there used to be, none of the smaller

venues could hold finals night. They could but they would turn many away at the

door. But since Tyler and company are so dominant, the crowds won't be nearly as

big as they usually are. Who wants to drive 40-90 miles to see your team get

a good drubbing ?The district is so spead out someone is guaranteed a lot of driving time, regardless who hosts the tournament. But to accomidate the teams and the fans,I think Page High School might be the best site in the whole district. Either there or a completely neutral site that can hold a crowd.

Sure everybody wants to be the host & playing at home is nice, but the powers

that be have to be realistic about matters & realize what schools can

host the district finals & which schools can't.

Marshall County High School holds about 1600....their old gym was bigger

than that and Fairview might hold 1100-1400, although I could be off on that.

Times I've been there, it seems like they didn't utilize all the bleacher space

they had. Bad thing about Fairview is that is at the extreme end of the district

just like Loretto is at the extreme end on the opposite side. And before you

say it I know, it's just as far from Loretto to Fairview as it is from Fairview

to Loretto !!

I still think Page might just be the best site for all concerned. Marshall would be

my second choice and Giles third.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
