Danny Coleman, Blake Tinsley, Joseph Paer, Mike Ortiz, and Nic Bundy could all win state at 112.

Coleman pinned Ortiz; then Ortiz decisioned Coleman

Ortiz decisioned Paer 2 times; then Paer decisioned Ortiz 2 times

Ortiz decisioned Bundy

Paer decisioned Bundy; then Bundy pinned Paer

Coleman major decisioned Paer

Coleman decisioned Tinsley; then Tinsley major decisioned Coleman

 

What do you think will happen at state?

I think, because of the draw, it will be Coleman and either Tinsley or Ortiz in the finals. This will be one of the most exciting classes to watch.

All of these wrestlers are great, but I wouldn't count Bundy out. He does have an extremely hard bracket with Ortiz and Tinsley on his side. But as they say, "If you want to be the best you have to beat the best." I'm sure that these will all be extremely close, intense matches, but I think that if Bundy wrestles his A game he will be able to pull out his first state championship. But yeah, the 112 weight class alone will be worth the price of admission.

Does anybody know what happened to the Bolton 112? I remember him being a pretty good wrestler, but I didn't see his name in the state brackets. Why didn't he qualify?

Do you mean Josh Martin? He broke his arm. He's a very good wrestler. That's an unfortunate incident.

If he is referring to Josh Martin, he should know that Josh was scheduled to undergo surgery last week. Josh and I are friends from way back and there is nothing more that he is disappointed in than not being able to wrestle in such a great weight class this year.

Josh had surgery last Wed. for his shoulder. They had to fold and stitch the tendent that spirals around and hold in your sholder. They had to do this on the front and back. While in there they saw that he also had a torn rotary(sp?) cuff so they had to fix that as well. He went back to school today. He is still in a good bit of pain. He was very glad to hear that so many people were inquiring about him.

Was he supposed to go 119? I think that's what he was wrestling before he broke his arm. Just think about how tough region would have been with him there--Baker, Speroff, Groves, Gibbs, and him.

Actually, he was wrestling the red devil 12 who was winning 10-4 when he reinjured his arm. Glad he is recovering well.

No he started wrestling 112 near the end of last season. He was 112 all this season. He was 103 his first 2 1/2 years.

 

His injury was started at Black Horse when the guy basically pulled his arm out of the socket. From then on it popped out several times.
