JohnT
Anyones thought on this matchup
NCS03
A good showing by Joe Lackey and Aaron Duke and Ezell can play weth the best of em (CPA) but a bad showing and they have a hard time beating teams that they should clearly beat (Friendship). FRA took the first one by around 10 I believe but I think Ezell has improved since then and will take this one by around 3.
Big48Eagle
FRA by 8. More talent than Ezell. Where is the game being played?
moose3542
Ezell won by about 7-10. FRA only scored 20 in the second half. With this win and a DCA loss Ezell is number 3 in the district.
NCS03
Do you have any stats? How did Duke and Lackey play?
moose3542
Duke played pretty well. He was probably the high scorer with around 15. Lackey had about 10 or so but had a monstrous dunk late in the 4th quarter. After that the scoring was fairly even for Ezell getting contributions from almost everyone that stepped on the floor. Sorry I don't have exact numbers.
NCS03
Lackey is dunking now?? Ive seen him play a few times where he had many opportunitys to bam it and he laid it up, after everyone I was screaming throw it down. Ezell seems to be playing pretty good and could be a factor in the tournament. Who are they going to have to play in district?
Big48Eagle
With only 6 teams in 9A, i have no idea how they will do the bracket. 1-6, 2-5, 3-4 maybe? If that's the case Ezell would match up with DCA in the first round. Edited February 21, 2004 by Big48Eagle
coasterboarder
With only 6 teams in 9A, i have no idea how they will do the bracket. its the same as its always been (3-6,4-5, and 1&2 have byes) so Ezell plays FRA- I think... Big48Eagle
Somebody said with the win tonight Ezell finishes 3rd, which would match them up with Monterey, and FRA with DCA. CPA and Goodpasture with the byes....Thanks for the correction.
moose3542
Hey NCS03, if you didn't know Lackey was dunking you could've asked Cam Biggs after their first meeting. He has dunked about 10 times this year. He lays it up a lot because his coach will rip him if he misses one. If he is alone he will dunk no doubt. Gator25
Well, first off, the dunk was not "monstrous." It was a very weak dunk, but a dunk nonetheless. The kid doeshave some good hops for his size though, I guess he just lost control of the ball on the way up. Second, it's Montessori, not Monterey. So who do y'all think will advance out of the four teams without a bye? Obviously Ezell will kill Montessori, but the FRA-DCA game will be a little tougher to call. DCA has won both games this year, but they were both very close. It will be interesting to see if FRA rises to the challenge.
