I have played against your boys Atchley, Ricketts, and Corey since middle school and they didnt quite contend with the boys of Ooltewah. Especially last year in freshman when they got beat by 40. But they are pretty good players. And supposedly Ooltewah is getting more kids to come out next year too so I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Ditto on red&gray. Go Owls, and Ooltewah will trounce most of the region this year. Ooltewah has a solid team, and who is going to guard Courtney White. Speaking of Soddy, who from Soddy will guard White. He is an interior powerhouse, and even if by the grace of God, he is contained, Ooltewah has always been a great perimeter shooting team, so Critter and the rest of the gang, will shoot the lights out. Again, so much for Soddy's playoff chances, and chances of even breaking .500 in the regular season. It will be interesting to see how many teams in lower classifications beat Soddy this year. You heard it from me... Soddy bows to 4A teams like Hixson.

You people crack me up... what is the crap about Soddy Daisy basketball. They wont contend for any state title anytime soon simply because Soddy Daisy is not a basketball school. Soddy Daisy having a winning season is a stretch, and contending at district is a stretch. Forget state!

coach Wood took them one game from the state in 1999-2000

Soddy-Daisy is in a hall of fame group with Sequatchie, Bledsoe and Polk, not sure of the schedules but I'd say they will play Sequatchie and Bledsoe, so would Polk, since Sequatchie and Bledsoe play each other in the district schedule. Not to down Seq and Bledsoe but if Soddy can't win over two AA teams they might have trouble in AAA. It will be a good gauge.

I watched Soddy at UTC and at Oak Ridge last Saturday they'll be lucky if they pull away with 5 wins this season, Farragut beat em by 40 at OR Playday. They have no chance at all in Region 3 with Cleveland, Bradley Central, Ooltewah, McMinn Co., Rhea Co., and Cumberland Co.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
