Loosing when its fair I can take any day and u are in denial if u can honestly say

that the clock and the officials didn't play a part in the loss. You all have obviously been allowed to do what u want up there for too long. We play fair in our neck of the woods come down and play us at home we will show u what fairness and hospitality are. The clock man at our school has never been accused of messing with the clock and our lady principal will show u how to throw out disrespectful kids for cursing the other teams players. Class its taught and respect is earned,

Sounds like a few trips to the woodshed are in order. We have several down this

way if u parents would like to borrow one.

Nobody at Unaka knew any of those officials. They are from a neutral location. How could they (or why would they?) be biased for our girls??

It all sounds like sour grapes to me.

I don't think it's sour grapes......Wartburg simply did not get a fair shake!! If you played that game anywhere else Wartburg wins by 10. Whenever you give a girl a Technical...then apologize to Davis for it....something isn't right!!!!! I don't mind losing...it is just losing that way that hurts so bad!

I hope Clarkrange wins by 20 or more..

I did know one of the refs. The last I heard, he was working at Reno's in Harriman!!!!!!!!!

Sportsmom25..apparently you have selective memory loss.... again. Maybe our student section did get a little rowdy. But you failed to mention the trash mouth that 44 had. Every other word from her was b--s--. I also see that you failed to mention YOUR students shooting ours the bird. I wouldn't be so quick to point a finger if I were you. At least we had class enough not to spit on the players. If you want to talk about crude will there you have it. Take care of your own team before you get on here and tell us how to take care of ours.

well all i have to say is i wish the Lady Rangers the best of luck down there.....but when it comes to playing down there.....It's a WHOLE different world down there....the girls that went down there year before last wer scared outta their minds...just the thought of the armosphere and everything else is overwhelming!! but if the Lady Rangers keep their head and play well they can pull it off and bring the Golden Ball home!!!! even if you don't.....it's still a very big accomplishment!!!! congratz on haveing one of the best seasons at Unaka High School!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO LADY RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jamacian this is the last I'm going to say on here about this subject. I have said nothing about ur girls team. My comments have been about ur student section and

some adults. Your girls played hard. But how on earth can u think that our girls

could possibly stay positive and unemotional knowing what was taking place. I have one petpeve in this world and that is injustice in any form when it has do with kids. What happened to our girls was a travesty. I saw fans at that game who never say anything infuriated. Your student section a little rowdy, come on. U are the one with selective memory if u were sitting anywhere around them. I don't agree with players cursing before, during or after a game but were they suppose

to take getting called names and the cursing that started from the time they first

walked in the gym without getting emotional? Come on not even u are that perfect.

I am sorry if one of ur players got spit on I have no knowledge of that and apologize that she was put through that. I do have knowledge that one of our

students was spit on in the face and he not the person from Unaka was escorted from the gym. An adult who is a very nice Christian lady witnessed it and tried to

tell the officer what happened and he refused to listen. This whole escapade was an absolutely ridiculous excuse for justice. Enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whether they were from Athens or not the one ref worked for Reno!! I know I talked to him when ordering uniforms for OS!

Whether he works there or not now, I don't know?

I spoke with the official who is a salesperson for Reno's last night at the Rockwood game. He also graduated with me and I asked him if he did any substate games at all. He told me he did none.

Sportsmom25....You must be a little dazed from the drive up. JUSTICE, this is basketball. If you want justice then I suggest you watch..NYPD, Judging Amy, CSI Miami, Monk, Murder She Wrote, Law & Order...Do I need to continue.

There was no travesties that took place Monday night, only two good ball teams playing ball. You appear to be a little over the edge about this whole thing. I don't know what world you live in but it's not a perfect one by any stretch of the imagination. Kids are going to be kids. They made a mistake, BOTH sides. For the love of Joe, drop this whole, blown out of proportion thread and get a life.

Take care of your own team before you get on here and tell us how to take care of ours.

ok, first of all i was sitting next to the accussed 'spitter' and that is totally false. The old rent-a-cop came over and said he had seen him do it. and mentioned it 15 mins after the game was over. only after some 40 year old is tryin to start something with a 16 year old. A) he never did it and B ) if he had why are you gonna wait till that late to say something to him?? just wanted to clear that up.

and you're gonna talk bout coach davis being classless??? so showing emotion and having some fire is classless? not to mention Unaka's coach coming over near Wartburg's crowd and with a smerk on his face and sarcasticly waving us bye. thats a little less classy then a coach showing emotion and sittin on the floor.

i'm not gonna get on here whining about the refs. granted they werent the best id ever seen, Wartburg girls had plenty of chances to win that ball game. the T in the 4th quarter, missed free throws, and a few mental break-downs just to name a few. and thats the first time i'd ever seen a scorer's table in a corner up high like that. pretty weird to me. but our girls had a good season and they'll be back next year!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
