I think that if the Summertown Eagle fans, and the Loretto Lady Mustang fans both cheer big for each other that it will have a major impact on the 2 teams success!! People may think im crazy but with 2 county teams up in the girls state tournament, we should be able to rock the place!! So let's do it for our girls, and our county!! Rock Murphy Center like its never been rocked before!! Go Lady Mustangs, and Lady Eaglettes and Eagles!! State bound!! Live it up Lawrence Co.!!! :P

Great season and Congratulations to 2 very good teams. I hope all of Lawrence County will come to support these teams. We may get after each other during the season, but we'll be pulling for the Lady Eagles and Lady Mustangs to go all the way. It's kind of like family, we can talk about each other but...knowbody better else better say anything. Good season Lady Cats, but lets get the red and blue and the gold and black shakers out and head to the Boro to cheer out other Lady Lawrence County girls on. Good Luck!!!! ;)

COME ON LAWRENCE COUNTY YOU FILLED THE MURPHY CENTER IN 1998 - 2002 FOR THE LADY CATS, DO IT AGAIN FOR THE LADY MUSTANGS AND LADY EAGLES THESE GIRLS DESERVE IT. Good luck to the Lady Mustangs and Lady Eagles in the State Tourney. I will be there to support both teams. I am proud to say both teams have several girls that have played in our Tennessee Express AAU program. I am extremely proud of you all. Special shout out to Brittany and Haley Lovett from S'town and to Leah and Racheal Stone and Jana and Mandy Cross of Loretto. It has been very special to me to be a part of your lives. You girls are the Best. Thank you and the best of luck. See ya Wednesday.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
