Hixson vs. East Ridge I & II

I've known Dane since he was about 10 years old. He has been able to throw what would considered a lot of pitches since he was a sophomore. Case in point, he threw 162 pitches as a sophomore in the Dizzy Dean World Series. He threw 80-84 MPH then, he's throwing 88-90 now, not much fall off. He's a big kid, throws a lot with his lower body using his legs. I wonder how many pitches the ER pitcher threw? I would guess at least 120.

This thread has gone somewhere I really didn't want it to. I understand yelling and trying to get your team up, but when it is perceived as bush league, you should see it and stop. The yelling is not the only thing though, other things like throwing balls into the visitor's dugout during warmups on purpose is another thing. Don't say it didn't happen because it did happen 6-8 times, until the umpire began standing near the dugout in the 4th inning.

Decide the game on the field, play with class, may the best team win. Period.

maybe east ridge thinks striking out wins games because they sure seem to think they could win without striking out...

sorry but thats part of the game... and hixson had five hits and five runs to east ridges too

east ridge had the errors in the 1st&2nd and hixson scored in the 3rd innings...

thanks for the score catsbackr, i was always curious to see who would win this one based on the talk off coacht. east ridge was saying that they could hit, well, they didnt hit monday when bolton threw for 19 strikeouts and obviously didnt hit well tonight with that fat goose egg in the 2-0 loss. any other details im missing from this game? congrats to hixson for the 2 game sweep!

East Ridge is not a bad team at all. They just need to get their bats going and play a little more defense. The 2 pitchers we saw Monday and Wednesday were good, the second game was scoreless until the fifth. They will surprise some people, they won't sneak up on anybody, but they will surprise some teams when they start hitting.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
