New softball restrictions supposed to make the ball less lively. i"ve seen at least three times the home runs I saw last year. Whats the deal.

The batters are starting to really work a lot harder to be able to hit. It used to be it was only the pitchers that worked out 3 to 4 times a week. Kids have started to figure out the players that hit the ball hard play more. Better and more intense instruction have also helped. Travel teams playing at higher levels also have had a big impact. The bats are good but without good mechanics that bat wont even make contact.

I will admit the composite bats do get better with use and turn a 1.2 bat into something more which helps balls go over the fence. The Miken and Rocket tech are examples.

Hitters today are twice as good as they were 6 or 7 years ago, and the bats are 100 times better. I do not see any difference in the ball this year, it seems to be coming off as fast as ever.
