from my user name im sure all of u know who i am. for the people that claim that mba pads their stats, i am sorry to enform you that u are wrong. Coach Smith is the man that does the stats and he is very honest and responsible. if you look at my penalty minutes u can see that i am almost leadin the state in minutes. i admit i am over agressive sometimes which is the reason for my penalty minutes and take aways. mba counts a take away as either being when you take the ball out an opponets stick and then gain possesion. not just when the ball is knocked out but possesion is not changed. sorry that i am dissapointing yall who thought MBA was full of liars. Those are MBA's true stats and you can either accept that or not. The MBA team does not care because we just care about team wins.

Hmmm... I think that Gibson/ Gillespie (depends on whom has a better game in the semis, which all the coaches will be watching, and which occurs right before the final meeting where they pick the awards) and Brakebill (he can have amazing individuals efforts, but seems to be frustrated when the ball isn't in his stick. Then again, Coach Kemp is probably twice as frustrated when Clint doesn't have the ball, but thats a different story...) are the clear locks. If Regan has a dominant performance for his next few games, I can see them rewarding his outstanding high-school career with the All-American. Personally, I feel he is a better goalie than Baucom, as Regan has shown me he has better control of clears and can stop one-on-ones pretty well. However, Jimbo Rainer, MUS' goalie, while playing better opponents, has posted better stats than Regan. Watching from the sidelines, I can honestly tell you Jimbo's worst game was against MBA, and even then he only had one rough quarter. Against McCallie he dominated, denying them three times from on top of the crease in the first six minutes. From the games I have seen, Rainer is probably the best goalie in TN at taking control of games, unafraid to come out of the cage and lay big hits (he's garnered his fair share of penalties) and scoop up groundballs. He's had some serious stick problems of late, and his clearing has suffered on account of it. This is no excuse, of course, it just happens that I'm aware of the situation. Overall, I would say that Rainer and Regan should be in a dead heat for first team all-state goalie, and whoever wins this race should probably go on to garner All-American honors.

Hey Kapman, at what point in the first McCallie vs MBA game did Regan have more control over clears? Was it when he was making upwards of 10 turnovers on bad passes to long poles or was it when he covered just about every square inch of grass behind the goal before gilmaning the ball in desperation? And about the all-americans, Brakebill is the best player in the state even his numbers don't show it, Gibson is probably the best attackman in the state. I'm not sure about the third aa, but it would be a crime to give it to Regan.

One game does not make or break a player. Its hard to clear the ball when your long poles cant get open or carry the ball up the field. Regan is a very good goalie. There is a reason he has been all-state two years running

brakebill is a machine. against MBA he was a huge contributor. (6 points both games) he can absolutely rip it from both sides and can hold onto the ball with 3 or 4 guys on him. i dont know how crazy he is about playing defense, but his speed and his shot make him an all american.

as for regan, the D poles and middies against mccallie that first game werent getting open at all. yeah, he overthrew a few passes but its not all his fault. his performances agianst MUS and McCallie(22 saves) have made him a legit all american candidate.

burns, caroland, gibson, gillespie make good cases at attack, too.

    • Gleason all over west Carroll in scrimmage. Gleason is big and fast
    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
