Also, I saw that Mccallie lost to Webb. We (CCS) lost to Dalton 4-2. We were up 2-1 and then put one in with a minute to go before the half to make it 2-2. The second half they capitalized on small mistakes, but overall it was an awesome and very competitive game.

baylor got the first goal with about 30 minutes left in the game..grace answered with a goal a few minutes later. grace then scored again on a headball with like15 left on the clock baylor scored a few minutes later with a cross then grace scored on a free kick to win the game.

Baylor has a good team. I can't say I know anything about Grace. Tough loss, and congrats to Grace. Baylor, nothing you can't bounce back from, so good luck to you.

I saw in the paper that David Rowland scored a goal, and had an assist...guess hes elligible now...good job David!

how is david rowlan eligible now. some one fill me in on how he became eligible so quickly.

Maybe you can fill us in on the whole story. Did he play somewhere else last year?

Yeah, Rowland played varsity at Ooltewah for the WHOLE season last year, even districts I believe.

I know Grace's coaches know what they are doing, but can you imagine having to forfeit a victory over Baylor?

He should have to sit out a full year from the last game he played in. Not sure why exceptions are made but there may be some.

Could it be because he went from a public school to a private school? Or could he have moved into Georgia and is going to Grace? Wat other exceptions sound more logical?

I don't know how David Roland could be an exception to the TSSAA rules since I know a player who lived in Ringgold last year and played for McCallies JV and when he moved this year to Ooltewah he transferred over to the Owls and TSSAA said he cannot play varsity until after May 3rd which would be 12 months after his last McCallie game.

 

TSSAA manual says in Sect 13 pg 14 that a student athlete that transfers from a public high school to a private high school is ineligible for varsity for 12 months even if he changes his residence.

 

Roland played well up into May last year for the Owls.
