Runthe800
Does anyone in the east have numbers that could compare to buck? How is Bingham doing this year.... Dude, Michael Bingham is doing GREAT! He has already set a new school record in the 300 Hurdles with a time of 37.81. He took a break from the hurdles at Optimist and trippled in the 100 (10.87), 200 (21.76), and 400 (50.08). Those are new school records in the 100 and 200. He anchored the 4X200 and 4X400 teams to victories at Best of Preps and anchored the 4X100 team to a second place finish behind Brainerd. The 4X400 time was 3:22.35, also a new school record. If you even think Chris Buck can compare to Michael Bingham, you are dead wrong! He will win the Decathlon again this year by a longshot. He has been working really hard to improve his weak spots from last year. His discus throw, pole vault, and even high jump have improved a lot! He should triple again in the 110 Hurdles, 300 Hurdles, 100 Meter Dash, and he should win the Long and Triple Jumps, and he may even make state in the High Jump. He will give McCallie 60 or more points this year. I am looking for McCallie to dethrone BA and win the D2 State title! No question Bingham is the favorite going in, and he will score a bunch of points in individual events also. It would be a big upset for McCallie to beat BA at state, however. It was a 20 point differential last year, and neither team lost much at all (BA 3 points and McCalllie 8 points.) Bingham may well score 50 or 60 points, but it's gonna take about 120 to win the meet, and McCallie doesn't have the depth that BA has across the board. itzme
All the state qualifiers are now posted on the TSSAA website. http://www.tssaa.org/2003Champions/StateTr...iers.htm#DIIDec Edited May 13, 2004 by itzme
nickforte4261
Bingham and Buck look to be pretty close, and its good to see Ben Davies qualifying as an 8th grader!
itzme
Should be a great competition. Of the six young men (all classes and divisions) who qualified for state with over 6000 points, four of them will be competing in DII. Pretty impressive, and a real testament to what outstanding coaching can accomplish when combined with great attitude and athletic skills.
