What do you know about Ryan Cooper

I keep reading this kids name in the paper and again today I see that he hit his 3rd Grand slam of the year last night. Does anyone know more about him?

We'll see how good he is when he faces Eble on Monday for Harriman. I look for Harriman to win that game.

I've seen Eble pitch ... very smooth ... fast ball down low ... changeup and curve ball.

He's Harriman's today and tomorrow - an excellent talent. What about it Bigman ... have you batted against him? Sounds like he has no weakness. Didn't he beat Rockwood 10-0?

Yes, wheelhouse, Eble is 3-0 against Rockwood this year. First game, at Harriman, he did beat us 10-0. The second and third time he threw against us, we put the ball in play decently, but we couldn't put enough together to scrap a 'W'. Everybody has weaknessess, we just didn't figure out soon enough how to exploit his. Jason is an extremely good pitcher, and an underrated hitter for that matter, and I think CAK will have trouble with him.

I agree ... CAK will have trouble with Eble. I didn't see a glaring weakness when he beat you 6-2. I believe he allowed 1 earned run in that game. What would you do if you faced him again? What is there to exploit???

I think Jason Eble has about 5 different pitches and throws each one of them 2 different speeds for a total of 10. He is the best pitcher we have faced. Jason if you read this Cooper is a great hitter .

Yep ... I agree ... he was unhittable when I watched him.

The way to exploit his weaknessess are to not miss the fastball when he throws it in the hitting zone. We took way too many strikes, and then swung at way too many balls. When facing Eble, the batter must make sure to be patient, yet aggressive. He has no big weakness, but when he does mess up and leave one fat over the plate, the batter must be ready for it.

Sounds like great advice to hit a GREAT pitcher. He should beat the CAK team ... I believe it's the first time they've seen him.

 

How did you personally do against him this year?? In the 6-2 game, I believe you hit him up the middle.

In the first game against him I went 0 for 2 with a K and a ground out (I was pulling off the ball trying to crush a hanging curve that didn't hang). The second game I was 3 for 4 (I did hit the ball up the middle a lot better). The third game I can't recall how I did, but it wasn't as good as the second game (I think i might have been 1 for 2 with a walk or 1 for 3 or something like that???).

Did harriman lose the District Championship? If not, they will play greenback on monday, not CAK. And it also sounds to me like none of you have seen CAK play, CAK is among the best hitting teams in single A. Cooper is a solid hitter.

Hey Guys I have played with Cooper and against Eble. Eble didnt impress me that much.... he was ok. Jubal Duncan and Aaron Everette both have better stuff. Do NOT get me wrong he is still a very good pitcher. I just think Ryan is one of the best hitters I have played with. I Wish them both the best of luck.
