My grievance is the same as the penetrator's. USN only had ON first eam all state. there were others on teh team besides charlie brittingham. I seriously believe that Carter Dunham should have gotten something for USN. He kept the leading scorer in the league scoreless one game, and very low productioin in another. David Skinner is another name to show because he is a great faceoff man and scores very often.

The all state selections always get people frenzied up because they have opinions and feelings that get hurt, but all state isn't some thrown together all-star team where each team gets a representative they feel is GOOD. It's the BEST line of each position in the state nominated by their coaches and voted on by all coaches and refs. If the 3 BEST of one position are on one team, so be it. If one team has no one, so be it. There's been instances where one team had as many as 5 first team players, not because of some bias, but because the were the BEST at their particular position as voted on by the coaches and refs. Some coaches don't even nominate a single player, some teams nominate all of their starters. Skinner is a good, athletic player, but is he one of the 3 best middies in the state? I don't think so. Brakebill and Sawyer are locks, and I think Crumbo would be my next pick. Skinner might be my face off guy, but I think Clint would probably pick that up too. I think Regan earned his spot, but goalie is definitely the hardest position to pick. I would also argue that Caroland should have made the first team, but bottom line is the coaches and refs see the most games and the most playes the most number of times, and usually do a good job picking out the BEST at each position. Some players or teammates might think someone is on there who shouldn't be or isn't on there that should be, but they don't have as good of a view of the big picture as those who vote. I'd say each year, the all-state teams are fairly accurate and I think this team is well picked.

My only grievance was the excess amounts of Webb guys over some others. I also thought there were better middies easily over the MBA guys who made first team all-state. Maybe I just caught them in bad times the 3 times I saw them play, I don't know. I just feel, while the big 3 should have more guys on all-state than others, that they get ridiculous when all their starters beat out everyone else.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
