Nike All-American Camp

Recommended Posts

the Nike Camp runs July 6-10 and J.P. Prince The Delk Twins, Jamont Gordon, Roseaun Cromwell, Pierre Niles and company will be in attendance. Is there any word on Tyler Smith who I believe broke his hand a few weeks ago. By the time he gets healthy his top spot in the state might be gone. Prince recently has been offered by Arizona and Texas after a good showing at the NBA camp that left coaches believing that a 6'7 kid could indeed run their college program at the point guard. Not taking anything away from Richard Delk and his top 4 ranking among pg's, but I don't think Richard Delk is as good a passer, ball handler, or distributor as Prince though he is a better shooter. If you look at www.theinsidershoops.com Jamont Gordon and Tyler Smith are ranked in the top 30. Prince is ranked 54 and Reginald Delk is ranked in the late 90's now this is nationally not statewide. So with personal feelings else aside J.P. Prince is a better prospect than the Delk Twins and should be right behind Smith and Gordon but like always he will just continue to display skills that are unmatched around the nation.

TheInsidersHoops.com is always the worst rankings out there... Right now they have Tyler Hansbrough #1, which is a stretch... They have Lawrence Kinnard #36 (Kinnard is the third best prospect on his own AAU Team)... David Palmer also is ranked there, as well as Calvin Williams...

So you're telling me Kinnard is a better prospect than Prince??? And that Palmer is a better prospect than the Delk twins??? And that Hansbrough is a better prospect/player than Tasmin Mitchell, Louis Williams, Monte Ellis, Martell Webster, among others???

Don't rely much on TheInsidersHoops.com rankings...

I've heard all are doing well...

Prince is playing well at Nike

Nicchaeus Doaks has been the surprise of Adidas Camp

Charles Little has been the surprise so far of Reebok Camp

Delk, Delk, Smith, Webb, Kinnard, Kemp, Williams, Watkins, Johnson, and Niles have also played well at camps...

Louis Williams is the best player(nationwide) in the class of 05, hands down. It is NO WAY he isn't number one. After not seeing Louis no. 1, i can't hold too much stock in insider's rankings. at barely 6'3" the kid is amazing. he controls games and toys w/ defenders. he is better than telflair(right now).

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
