Oak Ridge's first season was in 1943. Apparently, the Wildcats focused more attention on defense than offense that first season :D

1943  (0-4)

0       Clinton          20

0       Maryville         6

0       T.S.D.             48

0      Clinton            20

....520 wins and 8 State Championships later makes you wonder how many wins OR would have if they started playing 10, 20, 30, or 40 years earlier like some schools.

White House started football in 1943. Roy Lamberth was the 1st quarterback and the 1st game played was against Portland and that is when the rivalry began. White House scored 1st in that game and Portland proceded to beat them up pretty bad. White House never beat Portland until 1984 when they went 99 yards in the last 6 minutes to win the game 14-13 and it has been that close back and forth since.

Knox High and Stair Tech's last season was 1950. Those two schools were closed and four new schools opened that started playing football in 1951:

Fulton (1951)

Knox. West (1951)

Knox. South "Rockets"- then South-Young (1976) now South-Doyle (1991)

Knox. East "Mountaineers"- now Austin-East (late 1960s)

INDIAN, might know for certian but I think Sequatchie County started sometime in the 1920's probably earlier. The first High School was built in 1909.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
