...First of all let me correct what you said in the above statement...if you are strictly talking about CLASS 2A, Goodpasture started playing 2A in 1999( don't know if they were members prior to 1997 but for the years 1997-1998 they played in the private division)...I think I am able to give some insight on teams from the East since we play Region 4 teams in Rounds 1 thru the Quarterfinals...It is tough to play Lipscomb and Goodpasture in back-to-back games...we(the "RAMS") have played both (either in the 2nd round or the Quarters) since 1997...we are 3-3 against Lipscomb and 1-2 against Goodpasture. In 1997 we beat Lipscomb and won the State Championship against Union City...since then, when we beat one we lose to the other(the only exception was in 2000 when we lost in the 1st round).

...My point is: Yes, we could possibly see some other teams from the East but it will take an extra effort especially if you have to play either of these teams at their home field!!

...If you know anything about me, you know I don't mind saying that we lost(28-21) to a very good Westmoreland team...now my question to you is: How many times have we beat Westmoreland???? You don't have to answer

How did Tyner not beat David Lipscomb last year?

..To make a long story short: they out-hustled and out-played us...we had one of the best O-line and D-line since I have been following Tyner, however, as the ole saying goes: "whatever could go wrong...went wrong that night"...the only other night that I can truly say "it took me an entire three(3) years to get over" was when we lost to Goodpasture(21-18) in the quarter-final in 1999. No one can ever tell me that it was not our year to win the State!!!(As you can see, I am still suffering some residual effects)

in 97-98 goodpasture may have been in DII but im pretty sure in 95' they went to state in 2a cause that was the year we had a shot at state. and we beat goodpasture the first game of that season. who went on to win state i believe.

back to the point, has tyner replaced that line they had last year?thats hard to imagine.

and as for how tyner didnt beat lipscomb last year. well id have to say coaching i played against both of them and tyner was by far the most athletic team and were equally as agressive.the only thing that ever beat tyner was tyner.

...No, we lost the entire Offensive Line from 2003...the O-line however, is growing not only physically but maturing as well...skill position players are a year older and remember our QB was a Soph last year (it was his 1st year starting)!!

    • Wow, that really stinks. I hate that for you guys.
    • Not sure what you mean? 40 TOTAL? Macon is a good team no doubt, but I believe they've only scored 35 total points against Uppeeman the last two years, and that's over three games.
    • This scenario resonates with the dynamics observed in my hometown of Hartsville. The undue influence of politics on high school sports remains a pervasive issue, detracting from the integrity of athletic programs.  The proliferation of individuals driven by a thirst for power inevitably precipitates the downfall of any program. It appears that we are currently grappling with similar challenges akin to those faced by Greenback. Please accept my condolences for your ordeal.
    • From what we are hearing on the reservation we will be lucky to beat sunbright. And trust me I am not throwing stones at them because they play their hearts out. It’s a tuff game every year, just like Oakdale but when you have small numbers that’s what you get. And then you add in that you loose two top linemen and the starting qb!!!! Along with a running back!  We are in deep trouble.
    • The coach's departure ensued due to the absence of backing from the board members, compounded by the unsettling revelation that one board member persistently surveilled him, verging on conduct akin to harassment. Furthermore, it appears that meeting the expectations of this community remains an unattainable feat, as even a hypothetical scenario of clinching five consecutive state championships would likely not suffice to quell discontent. The current situation is fraught with complications, primarily stemming from applicants for the position who have cultivated relationships with board members known to have opposed the former coach.
