No running game in the east? You must not be too familiar with Dustin Lindsay. I think if Alcoa continually gets better, they will no doubt be in the 4th round since essentially they will have to beat one of their region teams to do it (rockwood) in which the regular season they beat 35-0. The next task will be either Tyner, g-pasture, or Lipscomb. I certainly think they will hold their own, whether they are victorius or not is another story. Only time will tell.

So Alcoa doesn't have a running game. Duck only has like 20+ rushing touchdowns and closing in on a 1000 yards. It's a new and improved Alcoa squad my friend and your right you do have to work for it. thumb

They didn't say they would smash Lipscomb last year. Nobody expected Alcoa to even make it to the Semis last year but they did and they did it with 3 seniors and a load of sophmores that was in there first year under Reid and still trying to learn the offense. This is a new and improved Alcoa this year and those mustangs better be ready. Nobody remebers the losers and if I recall Lipscomb got a good ole fashioned butt spanking too by Huntingdon. Nobody remembers the losers. thumb

Those Lipscomb boys know what is being said just like we do over at Alcoa. I promise to you though, this is a different year and Lipscomb will not smash Alcoa like last year but when it came dow to it Lipscomb got smashed too. thumb

I personally feel that the Camden @ Cheatham matchup in the second round could be a GAME OF THE YEAR type of contest.  Both teams run the ball exceptionally well, but Cheatham's pass attack is a little more refined than Camden's.  I don't really know all that much about Camden defensively, but I do know that the Boyd kid is a stud in the backfield.  If Cheatham won that game, then would they get to host Huntingdon in the quarters or would they have to travel to Paul Ward Stadium???

Huntingdon(provided they do go on to win the region, a win vs. Riverside tomorrow night will clinch) will be guaranted the first three at home if they advance that far.

    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
    • Heard Seq has gotten a lot stronger this off season. Can’t wait to see how the boys do this year
