I am uncertain @ this time if I am going to make the trip to Maryville. It is not that I don't want to support the team but they have not been much to watch this year. As you know we have high standards @ McMinn and all of the excitement that goes along with qualifying for the playoffs is gone for the first time in 11 years and we simply don't know what to do.

As a loyal supporter I hope the team comes together and wins these last 3 games and finishes @ 5-5 because that is alot better then 4-6 or 3-7. We have confidence that we will regain our winning ways next year and return to the tradition of years past. GO TRIBE!!!!

A "true fan" would support his/her team no matter what happens. Yes McMinn has high standards and tradition, but that tradition now resides in Rome, Georgia. Text book example is The University of Alabama. They have "tradition" but where has it been in the last 10 years? I hope that McMinn can win out and salvage their season, but don't underestimate WB, all their losses have come to teams ranked in the top 10 in their classifications.

Yes I agree Cornbread a true fan needs to support their team through thick and thin and there is no more loyal supporter then I am. And I understand what you mean when you say that the tradition is now in Rome, GA. But I disagree, I believe the football program is larger then any one individual. Yes, coach Mullinax built this program starting in '84 and turned it into a winning program year in and year out and sometimes with lessor tallent then the teams we were competiting againist until he retired in 2002. But everything has to come to an end @ sometime even though we may not want it to happen. Those of us who are close to the program realize it is not the same it was different last year with Hutchins and it is different this year with Daugherty. There will never again be a John Mullinax @ McMinn County High School becuase those types of individuals are a rare breed.

I hope as someone that has seen the good and the bad down through the years that this football program pulls itself together and shows this community the kind of character it has by winning the final 3 games. It is easy to give up @ this point and watch this program fall on it's face and lose these few games, and if that were to happen then I believe it will effect next year. I believe this team will finish strong and coach Daugherty will show this team why he was hired as the head coach because he has morals, discipline and he knows football. GO TRIBE!!!!

Every time the subject of WB comes up everyone says "look at the schedule they played". I'm sick of hearing it! True it's played out to be the toughest in the state but I don't think the schedule changed after the season started. I think Meadows knew who he had to play when he chose to go to WB. Everyone at WB knew their schedule before the season played out, yet in the pre-season we all heard how good they were going to be. Drilling everyone they scrimmaged in the pre-season, but as soon as the 0-fer started it's the schedule. Sorry that doesn't work. You should win the last 3 games but I don't think that shows signs of improvement just lack of competition.

Meadows and A.J. was the greener elsewhere, look at the back of your pants and you can tell! Not sorry their gone just hate the way they left everyone hanging but we are doing alright for ourselves.

Glad to see Erik get the opportunity to be a HC coach somewhere, I just didn't want it to be at JC. I know Erik and his family and I wish him nothing but the best. Tough year at SD and can get nothing but better. I can't believe he left McMinn except to be closer to home because his wife sure wasn't moving.

He did a great job @ McMinn and everyone here did not want him to go but we saw the writing on the wall mid-way through the season when he never committed to moving to Athens. He could have built on a tradition that Mullinax started and possibly taken this program to the next level but it was not meant to be.

I believe he will be okay @ SD the fans just need to be patient. I do think @ somepoint he will return to Jeff Co. as their head coach but I suppose time will tell. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge about the game and is truly a players coach.

What about the William Blount football team? Any good players and if so where do they play? I understand they run the Wing T and a 4-3 defense.... GO TRIBE!!!

WB does have some extremely good athletes at skill positions, but the d line and o line arent up to par. Watch out for #33, he runs tough and has some wheels. Good luck in the game!
