Best teams not in the state tournament

No one ever said CA was an elite team. If im not mistaking when the topic was started it said best team not in the state tournament. There are 8 teams in the tourament right? So that means they could be in that field of 8 but not an elite of A/AA.

people who really know soccer know not to judge a team before they see them play.

 

but if you wanna play the numbers game i believe a 3-1 game with fra isnt bad (and the second goal was an own goal) & ccs, i believe, lost to them 3-2 in state tourney. ENOUGH SAID.

ccs lost 3-2 in the state yes....

but also beat the 1-0 in a nashville tournament.

ccs girls had a lot of mistakes from a squad without much finals experience.

both ccs' goalies played well esp. for their first year playing goalie for highschool.

 

fra's 3rd goal could have gone both ways. the ball went off the top bar bounced down and hit the top bar again. supposedely it hit a part of the net but who really knows. the side ref was not on the endline and so he had a bad point of view and so did the mid ref. but oh well i still think CA is a good team just not a top 5 team.

When CCS beat FRA in the Nashville tournament, the team had played 6 games in 6 days. Out of the 6 games, 4 were against ranked opponents and a very physical USN. Two starters were injured. Losing to CCS under the cirmumstances didn't surprise anyone.

 

The third goal was valid in the final against CCS. It went the way it should have.

 

Both teams are great teams. On Saturday, FRA was the better team.

 

CA, you were FRA's 1st game of the season. Many changes were made since then resulting in the calibur of team that beat a very talented CCS at state. I don't think a 3-1 result would be the case if FRA played you today. Having said this, this years CA team was much improved from last year. You had great speed and pressured our team well. You also play with alot of heart and determination.

 

This season is over. Next years teams will be different for better or worse with the seniors moving on. I think I will also move on. Good luck next year.
