ajc
Strong points have been posted concerning the dividing of districts for the "minor" sports. Looking at the TSSAA site for the coming year, small, public single A schools will compete in baseball, softball, volleyball, cross-country, track, etc. against the likes of the following: Fulton HS enrollment 956 Portland HS enrollment 995 East Ridge HS enrollment 889 Page HS 919 Anderson County HS 964 These are all public schools. Why would a "good volleyball coach" seek out a public school with 300 students when the competition has so many more athletes to choose from? I think it's wonderful that Williamson County has good middle school programs and coaches. Will one of them leave those programs to coach a single A public school with a small student population? I doubt it.
