I'll give you all football!!! But basketball UUUUUH NO. Housley is #14 the point guard right? If so he is garbage and couldn't start for any other team in the region. Not trying to trash talk or being mean just stating my honest oppinion. But good luck anyway because to win the the region w/ Clinton, Powell, Halls, Karns, and Oak Ridge this year your gonna need alot of luck.

Curt dog is gonna tear it up this year and throw a couple down, Housley is a pretty good player that I think could start at a lot of high schools in the area....and why isn't anyone talkin about our best player, also our WR, #2 Josh Allen. If this guy doesn't get an attitude this year he'll be real good.

Just keep overlooking Campbell County basketball folks.  After the Cougar roundballers you will realize that Campbell County basketball is on the way back.

the glory days of teh 90's are still a ways off...but teh Cougars are definitely on teh way back up the ladder...teh new kids mentioned are big/tall but very inexperienced...it may be hard for them to make a big impact...but if theycan contribute in spots or have a few good games in them it will be more than a plus for teh Cougs...

Housley sometimes appears slow but this decieving...he can shoot and handle teh ball...berry is a good defensive player that has a knack of coming through in the clutch, much like Housley...Allen did a tremendous job as a receiver in football ...I hope it helps his roundball game...he was not much of a scorer last year...Parker and Taylor aer the two big men that must come through inside if teh Cougars are going to compete with the likes of OR and teh other teams in teh district which includes Clinton, Karns, knox central and powell...a tough district overall...

    • I've caught a few games this year. We have a decent team.   I'm hoping this group can qualify for state.
    • Pirates baseball team is region 3 champs.  Host sectional Wednesday.   Go Pirates!!
    • I am interested in seeing how much they progress in year two under Fitz myself. I do believe they will improve but how much will be the question.
    • Pirates can make a run at the dance for sure.
    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
