South Doyle 2005

South Doyle seems to have a lot of potentian for next year. They will probably be moving down to 4A and many starters returning. SD had quite a few sophomores starting that could be a lot better next year as Juniors. Does anyone think they will be better come fall 2005?

The Big Boss says don't be so excited about moving to 4A. SD will probably move into Carter's position in 3 4A. That means Maryville, Knox Central, Powell, Halls, and Knox West. SD may go o'fer in the Region. Although, Clinton may be beatable. I am not sure who SD scheduled in non region games so some wins may be lurking out there. SD may improve but don't expect a big season for a while. That "P" word is also a dangerous one to use.

The move to 4A prob will be a tougher schedule for SD and also keep in mind that Clinton looses 5 or less Seniors that even contributed. A couple that i added played some but didn't start, and some seniors on the team didn't even play.

I look at this as a move over, not down. 4A in and around Knox Co and mainly in Blount county looks tougher. And Boss Hoss is right, SD will find a tough road to hoe for a few years yet me thinks

I think SD should seriously consider getting Swafford back. He was the best coach we've had in recent years. The kids bought into his program and he believed in the kids. I don't know if he would consider coming back here, but we should try. He can have them in a race for the 4A State Title next year.
