With Allen I would think that JCS runs away with this district, but since they have to wait till the tournament to get him back, Middleton could give them a run for their money. Both teams will be loaded down with guards, but JCS's are much taller. I think JCS still wins this district, but I don't expect them to run the table through district play anymore. Adamsville still has Robison and some shooters so they should finish at least 4th. I think USJ will be much better than finishing sixth. USJ is too well-disciplined and won't except failure. They will probably be the most overachieving team in the district.

fayette academy is absolutely horrible. i've seen them play this year and while the big kid is decent, the guards leave alot to be desired. having them picked at the bottom of the league is completely on target. it would take a special team with no talent and extremely poorly coached to remove the vikings from last place in that region.

Well I am assuming you were at the St. Benedict game considering that the Vikings other games were a close loss to Lausanne and a win over SBEC. Granted, Benedict absolutely dominated that game and had complete control the entire time. That was only because of one factor though, the press. Fayette Academy simply couldn't handle it. However, they won't play anyone the rest of the year with a press as effective as Benedicts. Look at the third quarter for instance, St. Benedict took the press off to start the third quarter but still had their starters in the game. I think they took off the press, one because they were up by a lil over 20 at that point, and two because Corzine wanted to work on his half court defense which they hardly got to do in the first half considering that FA wasn't getting it that far. Anyways, what happened was Wilson scored on five straight posessions for the Vikings and Benedict went right back to pressing again. I am not tryin to say that FA can play with Benedict. I am saying that Benedict is an extremely good team and would win FA's district I believe, may struggle with JCS, but I think with both teams healthy SBA is better. Furthermore, the only teams in the district that will try and press FA is probably gonna be JCS, Middleton, and Adamsville. After that, I don't think any of the other teams are athletic enough to. So you are saying that Benedict couldn't stop Wilson in the half court but Madison and Scotts Hill can. :D I think you are just really unfamiliar with the rest of the teams in this district. Good luck to the Eagles, I am hoping to come and see some more of your games this year.

they took the press off with 3 togo in the first half. they let the guards give token pressure for 3 or 4 possessions after the first few minutes of the 2nd half. the wilson kid had no field goals in the first half and even when they got the ball up the floor he was having trouble getting it. other than those couple of possessions in the 2nd half, i think it was three in a row. he didn't do a thing. they clamped back down on him. you may be right in saying that i haven't seen all the teams in the region. i have seen a few but not all. however if the coaching staff doesn't make a better effort to try and get him the ball they are going to be in big trouble. there guards are weak and other coaches will exploit that. the bottom line is other than three or four possessions they shut the wilson kid down. st. benedict's strength is not there post play but they did a terrific job of shutting him down when fayette did get the ball up the floor. having a good post player is great, but you better have someone who can get him the ball otherwise he'll just end up catching the ball 25-30 feet from the basket like he has done the last 2 years. we have all seen how far that has gotten them.

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
