They rely way to much on the Blitz. They really don't have any other answers against a good passing team. Offensively, they are too run heavy. They rely on Way too much. James might be one of the more polished 1A QB's in the state, but their offense doesn't put the ball in his hands enough. Don't get me wrong, they are tough in upper East TN, but against a complete well-balanced team, like the one's that you see in the last two-three rounds, they aren't quite there yet. They had no answer for North Greene's pass rush pressure and North Greene is a bad team, that GB killed, but they still struggled protecting James in the pocket. Against teams that throw the ball well, if they can't get pressure they are screwed due to their inability to fool teams with their coverages.

 

They just have that tough, Get 'er Done attitude that doesn't always win State Championships when other teams are equally if not more talented and have better schemes. USJ, DCA, and Boyd are all better coached than GB. Satterfield gets a lot out of his boys, but they lack the sophistication in their offensive and defensive schemes that the big leagures that have been there and done that like USJ, DCA, and Boyd do. Trey Teague who played under Fulmer at UT and Shannahan at Denver said that Mickey Marley at USJ is the best coach he has ever had.

Oneida had a great defense this year. A little touchy in a couple parts, but overall a very solid defense who held coalfield to 7 and shutout cloudland. Only losing one starter on the d-line and losing all starters in the secondary. A very agile linebacker core with Spradlin and Lewallen returning to run the middle. With Simon and Quakenbush on the outsides, they should lead the way next year. As for the d-line, with the return of Hall, Palfreyman, and T. Cross, they need one more d-end which will probably be S. Cross. Work hard boys and i know that y'all will pull it out again next year. From your favorite linemen!

Oneida held Coalfield to 14 not 7. But 14 was enough to win the game so I guess Coalfields D was a little better that night.
