camden beats Huntingdon

I'd like to say to an earlier post that if Camden needs locker room material I would think they would be unprepared. Revenge factor will carry you through one series at the most then talent takes over. The Mustangs have an ample supply of plays that they haven't shown yet. Huntingdon knows what Coach Blow is setting up two plays before he calls them on the field. Remember he is using the Mustang offense with a little Trousdale County "O" put in. Execution will win this game folks cause I look for both sides to turn the ball over because of the hard hitting. Has Camden seen Donald at safety yet? I'm telling you to spread the word around. Get past the linebackers and then be prepared to hear that sweet sound. Our boys are ready just like I know the Lions will be too. Don't expect an easy contest. We realize it will be a 4 quarter game.. Good luck to both teams and may both sides be injury free.

I think that with the way Camden has been playing defense, they very well could shut Huntingdon down. Could is the big word there. Now is the time for the defense to step it up another notch, because defense is the only way to win this game. If it comes down to a shoot out, I can see Huntingdon taking it, but if Camden can get an early lead, and hold Huntingdon off in a low scoring game, Camden will be headed towards the semi's. Huntingdon is going to have to find a way to keep the defensive line out of the backfield because penetration can put a real quick stop to a wing T offense. If Huntingdon can consistently make the blocks to keep the line out of the backfield, they will be able to move the ball. Camden finds a way to get lots of penetration, and make physical, hard tackles on Weathers, this will be a gem. Eliminate mistackles and Camden rolls. But if the Lions let Boo and Donald run wild again, its going to go Huntingdon's way. They key, my friends, is the defense. Will Camden end the string of shutouts Huntingdon is posting? Or will Huntingdon shut Camden down? Its gonna be good folks! I for one can't wait!

If I left an impression that there was a "need" for locker room material in order for Camden to be prepared for this game then I sincerely apologize..was just remembering the "Glory Days" so to speak from a time gone by.

"Incentive is the fodder by which great things are achieved"...no need for locker room material..we already have the incentive as I'm sure Huntingdon does too.

As far as Donald goes...if he's now the safety....I hope he stays busy....that means Josh,Byron, Jesse, Heath, Crawley, Wilbanks etc. will be in your defensive backfield.

We also wish good luck to both teams and also for an injury free game.

GO LIONS!!! thumb

RCombs..Good post. I wish the game could be played on astroturf because I've heard the weather is going to be nasty Friday night. The field is in rough shape. I know earlier last week the Mustangs practiced on Paul Ward turf but the field is in pretty rough shape after the Cheatham game. Think we should play it at Bruceton's field?

To the Huntingdon folks: listening to the Huntingdon - Cheatam Co. game, I did not hear Chris Donald's name mentioned for carrying the ball very much. I heard his name mentioned on defense several times, as he was in on quite a few tackles. I know Hampton and Weathers are effective, but if you have the big man at the trough, why not let him eat?

I dunno what else I can add to this. I was in Toledo the last time these 2 teams played. My girlfriend is from Camden so I have seen them play several times. This includes their first game, to their last game against Fairview. The team I saw Friday night against Fairview was AWESOME. All I can look at is how Fairview played against other teams throughout the year to diagnose how good they are. Camden just THROTTLED that team. Fairview MIGHT have had 25 yards in the first half. Just absolute domination by Camden. Wilbanks and Yoder are both outstanding on the defensive side of the ball. So it is EXTREMELY safe to say from my perspective that this team has absolutely peaked at the right time. BTW I am a Henry County guy. SO I am fairly unbiased.

I will be there early Friday. Anyone know where to buy tickets in advance? Also I have never been to the Huntingdon stadium, how much seating is there? At least as much as Camden? More?

I can only assume that Camden will bring a large crowd this week. I can only speak from experience with the Stangs when they play Milan. I got to the stadium last year about 5:00 pm - almost too late to get a seat. And the temp was about 30 degrees with a 15 mph wind. Miserable, but saw two great teams pound each other all night long. Huntingdon seems like the Defense has picked up and Camden seems to be clicking on all cylinders. Good luck to both teams but here's to the Lions!!!!!

Camden 27

Badcompanybaseball... Please back off Bulldog fan#2.. He has always had good posts about Huntingdon by not running down the team. I think all he was trying to do was predict a score. Go over to a Milan thread and predict what you actually think the score of the Carver-Milan game will be.... Some people get on a Huntingdon thread and make foolish statements but not him. I disagree with his winner I might add. thumb

you didnt hear donalds name much on offense because he wasnt out there as much as usual friday night. desmand townes stepped in and suprised a lot of people from huntingdon im sure. he isnt as fast but he can bust through the line with some power thats for sure. so now they can hurt you with either chris or des. at fullback.
