According to Chuck Ross who has already called Alcoa. They are bringing 6 chartered buses. They are planning to eat at O'Charley's at 4:00. Alcoa fans don't eat too much. You will want to try one of the hamburgers at the stadium. Stadium Warning: Keep a close eye on your little ones. Robert "Big Daddy Gaddy may be in attendance. Visit The Mustangfanpage.com

There is a lot of talking about this game but you flatlanders are going to be surprised at how much these Tornadoes have improved.    Bigger, faster, stonger....and with a bigger faster stronger line we will open some huge holes in the  stable to run through.  I read where the Mustangs lost the little number 13 who reaked havoc in the secondary last year.  Without him and that 44 kid I think your defense will be a mere shadow of last year......

825448362

So you think Alcoa has improved? I haven't heard anyone say anything about that! Keep talking Alcoa fans!

Today, we salute you Mr. Second String Wide Receiver.....

Overcoming all odds, you have become the omniscient football prognosticator in the state of Tennesee....  You suffered through countless hours of practice at Greenbrier High School to reach this great status in your life.....while the rest of the Bobcats practiced, you studied film hard on every other team in the state especially Middle and East TN 2A teams.....this week alone you so willingy graced us with your vast knowledge about the Tornadoes and Mustangs.....how will we ever repay you....keep up the good work and

Here's to you Justin Groves, Mr. Second String Wide Receiver...

Here's to you mr. football knowitall i've been out of high school for 2 years, go to college in east tennessee and merely wanted to state my opinion on the game. I started for 2 years thank you. Also I've seen Alcoa and Lipscomb play games this year. I never tried to start a pointless arguement such as this, I just wanted to put my two cents in. Since I seem to know more than you, this web site is not the place to put such stupid, unfounded remarks. Put your predictions down and shut up. Everbody on here would appreciate it. I'm through arguing with you idiots on this thread.

What are you trying to say here Mark Gaither?  Also, twittycanes, I am graduate from Greenbrier from 03 with Justin and Justin and I both go to school at UT (Knoxville).  If you're not aware that is near Alcoa.  We get to see both teams play, DL and Alcoa, as well as our team GreenbrierGreenbrier played DL this you as you know and Greenbrier did win no matter what the situstion was, early in the season or any other excuse you can come up with to say your team would have won.  Seeing both teams play Alcoa WILL win!  If you have a problem with that prediction or any other things I say let me know and we will talk about it.

Go Alcoa! :D

825445036

Actually, there is a problem with that predection. Two years ago, DL lost to a mediocre GP in the regular season, a 1A Boyd Buchanan, and barely won the 1st round of the playoffs against Marion Co. We, being Sweetwater, figured we had it in the bag by about 2 TD's. Even though DL wooped up on Tyner and then avenged the GP loss by handing them a 29-0 rout. We were still pretty confident, but we got a wake up call. DL is more disciplined, and probably plays the smartest football I've seen at the high school level. I would compare that DL team of '02 to a Maryville squad. Many would agree with that. Whether or not they have that kind of team this year, I don't know. All I know is if Alcoa doesn't bring all they have, it could be a long night. Good luck Tornadoes. Bring it home to region 2.

Thanks for the plug. It is always so encouraging to learn that people visit the site. It's kind of like what rock stars talk about when they say how flattering it is to look out into the crowd and see thousands of fans singing the lyrics word for word.

See the real "Big Daddy" at http://www.mustangfanpage.com/Pugh.JPG

Purple Shoe Gang, it's time to get ready! Friday will be here before you know it.

I have just sat by and listened to poster after poster bash lipscomb and predict an alocoa win, and then have the nerve to call lipscomb "cocky".  It humors me that people could truly believe alcoa can blow out lipscomb.  Granted, last years alcoa game means absolutely nothing, but its really hjard to imagine that same team has the potential to blow out a very versatile and stingy lipscomb.  As a previous player of the past two season, i know that alcoa has a very dangerous squad, but be assured that lipscomb is ready and well prepared to controll any weapon you have in the back field.  I know that lindsey is a good back, but lipscomb has played against and shut down better.  We have faced the likes of Lamarcus Coker(#2 rated all-purpose back in the country) in a scrimage and it did not affect the outcome of the score, as well as many others in the past.  Be assured that lipscomb is ready for alcoa.  I will not give a prediction about the outcome of the game, but i think that alcoa will have their hands full with this bunch of lipscomb players.  Matt/burton Elrod, jaime wilkerson, austin rogers are just four of several players that have the opportunity to make huge plays at any time.  After what happened last year, everyone better believe that lipscomb will not underestimate anyone they play.  I will be there on Friday, and i hope it will be a good game.  get ready alcoa, if by some way you do win, you better believe that lipscomb will make you earn it..  Good luck to lipscomb.

Not sure where to start with this lunacy.

First, please proofread. It's so frustraintg to read a post with so many misspelled words.

Second, please do not bring up backs you SCRIMMAGED. Newsflash: Scrimmages are not real games.

Third, what kind of name is Matt/Burton? Is that Irish? Scandanavian?

Fourth, you say Lipscomb is always ready to play. Seems as though I recall a little game called the 2003 Blue Cross Bowl where they came out a tad flat.

Need I go on?

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
