Red Boiling Springs did what they had to do by getting the ball inside to Meador and letting him work his magic under the basket. Dexter White had an outstanding game. He and Tyson Jenkins made some big plays that truly helped out the Bulldogs over the course of the game. The two big turning points in the game were 1)Coach Owens's ejection and 2)Clay's Godwin fouling out...all of which happened in the wild third period. Godwin left with 12 points and with RBS burning off steam over Owens's ejection, it just didn't fair well the rest of the night for Clay County. January 14th should be very interesting on the bank of the Cumberland. Congratulations to Red Boiling Springs on a deserving win.

were the refs calling it tight or did Clay County just make a bunch of stupid fouls?

RBS stayed at the foul line the whole fourth quarter in this game. When RBS's coach was ejected the ref's started calling everything on Clay Co. it got to be a bit ridiculous and actually took away from what was a great ball game with two very good teams, but when you shoot 25-30 foul shots in a quarter most of the time that team is going to win. However, Clay needed to find a way to overcome that and it didn't happen, RBS did what they had to do and defended their home court, can't wait until Jan 14th! thumb

in the 2nd half of the game -

RBS @ the foul line 29 times  -  10 fouls called against them

CCHS @ foul line 11 times (4 for technicals I think) and 20 fouls called against them.

A major part of those 20 fouls were when Clay Co. was intentionally fouling late to try and get back in the game. But I do totally agree that the refs could have been better both ways, like the phantom foul called on Heady late in the first half, the ref assumed that he was going to foul and he blew the whistle very quick and you could tell by the look on his face that he knew he made a mistake and after that Heady had to sit for awhile and thats when Clay made their comeback! But I was once told that good teams have to overcome bad calls! Great Game by both teams looking forward to Jan. 14!
