FHSrebel27
Well, at least they're going to meet again. Perhaps not a great sign, but I don't see any negative to it. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=1942746
wingman10
I just don't see it happening.
FHSrebel27
Gotta have faith! But even if they don't have a season... look our what our Ads are doing up in Milwaukee. They're having a GREAT season and it only means bright things for our future.
FHSrebel27
Wellll, things look rather bleak now, eh? But hey, got to go ee the AHL affilate of the Stanely Cup Champs tonight at the St. Pete Times Forum which gave me a nice little taste of hockey... got my picture taken with the most coveted trophey in all of sport... it was pretty cool. Well- here's to next year!
Opperman
The owners are refusing anything that isn't a salary cap. The 24% across-the-board reduction offer shows that the players aren't just greedy punks wanting more. Salary caps aren't all they're cracked up to be...look at the NBA. Aside from Detroit, when's the last team to win that wasn't pretty obviously going to before the year started? And how many teams enter the season knowing they have zero hope of rings? FHSrebel27
You're exactly right. And even if it is just a temporary solution, it's one that even Bettman admited would be good enough for a few years. You put that into place and then, oh gee, imagine this... SIT DOWN AND TALK and get something more permanent into place while still playing hockey. It CAN and SHOULD be done that way. Get your freakin' act together, owners! They players have offered... they have tried... you are stubborn!

Would the NHL have cut ticket prices by 24% if they'd accepted the offer? Heck no.
gotmilk?
This is ruining the game of hockey in the USA! It will take hockey alot longer to recover than it did baseball!!
FHSrebel27
You think the NHL doesn't know that? They've got a great PR staff ready to hit the streets the second this is settled, no doubt. Whether it'll help or not... that's to be seen. But they're gonna sure as heck try. I know I'm stickin the with the game!
gotmilk?
Whats funny, is that you dont hear people mumbling and complaining because they miss hockey, but almost everyone was having a fit about the baseball strike! It will take hockey along time to recover from this!
FHSrebel27
But did you hear people talking about hockey a lot even before the strike? I know my friends have heard nothing but me complaining about this for quite a while... and I've got several friends that feel the same way. You must not know any hockey fans!
