Coach Venable Resigns from Volunteer

Exactly what I had been saying all season long, has finally happen. He decided it was time. Now Volunteer may get headed in the right direction over the next few years.

Exactly Smoke! Im glad Venable finally saw the light. Volunteer football only has one way to go, and thats up. They have some very good athletes on the way. I hope the next choice is Mays.

Yep, it was the best choice Venable has made. It was the right time to had the program over.

 

I myself would love to see Mays the next head coach, but me and a friend don't know if it will happen, because of the good money he is making at TN High, he would be taking a paycut to go back to Volunteer to be the head coach. It would be the same way with Coach Christian, I don't know to many people that are willing to take the pay cut. But both of them have been in the program at Volunteer, and both would make good coaches in my opinion.

Waco why would you like to see Mays? Not saying he would not be a good choice,would he be better than Christian or Barrett?Give me some insight.

I dont think coach Mays will leave THS because he likes it there i mean its every coaches dream to become a head coach but I think Mays will stay at THS for a awhile

Chuck would make a great coach, but he is a better head baseball coach, he knows baseball very well, best coach I ever played for!

Got word today from a person inside the Volunteer camp that the job is Brian Barrett's (D.B. assisant ) if he wants it.

 

Sources say he is considering the job very much,he lives in the Church Hill area and he and the principal have been real close friends for many, many years.

What happened to Pat Fraley at South? Wasn't he from Hawkins Co.?
