What happened is that they played AAA schools like they should be playing all year. Next year they won't have the record they have now because they will have to play AAA teams all year. When they are in the district with CHS, Bradley, McMinn and Cumberland it want be a cakewalk like it is with schools that are half their size. They should beat Bradley because they are an average AAA team but Cleveland beat them by 25 earlier. They have more students than any AA team and more than most AAA teams so they should win AA games easy. They are a very good team but they should be.

Give me a break. Who has Cleveland beat in the last 4 years with all that talent over there except weak teams in AAA and AA teams? I don't see no Gold balls at CHS, unless its a picture in a newspaper article pinned on the wall for team inspiration for the next year. Guess those inflated records mean more at CHS. Every year we hear how great they are and what they are going to do. Still waiting !!!!!! You better be worried about your record next year instead of WVHS after you lose Rogers, Brett, Burnett, and Rader.

I don't know much about the size of the school but Walker Valley was beaten in the tournament by a couple of better teams. This team was very good and #22 was awesome. She was lights out from the three point line. They were fun to watch and the coach really got into the game. The ladies classic was a very good tournament and Walker Valley should be proud of the way they played.

We aren't worried about losing Rogers, Brett, Burnett, and Rader. We will still have our bread & butter, which by the way is Kerri Simpson, she will only be a junior next year. Where is WV's gold balls? No one said CHS had a GREAT girls basketball team, I think people are saying CHS has a good girls basketball team. No one said that Cleveland was gonna go undeafeated. No one said that they were gonna win the State Title. All ladyraider10 was saying is that WV will be where they should be next year. I think everyone knows that Cleveland is the best girls basketball team in the Chattanooga area. You hear bout how they gonna do around here because they are Chattanooga's TOP team. I think the 76-50 beating we put on yall says enough. Now you give me a break B)

First point: If you are not worried about losing Rogers, Brett, Burnett and Rader, you must be graduating and wont be there next year, because Kerri, I agree, is a an awesome young talent, but minus those 4, well, just wait and see.

Second point: Whose the best team in Chattanooga area, depends on your measuring stick. Some may not measure TOP like others.

Third Point: Please pay CLOSE attention to this!!!

2002-2003 WV won 63-47 : CHS won 53-44

2003-2004 WV won 60-55 : CHS won 78-72

2004-2005 CHS won 76-50 : ??????

Cleveland is totally dominating Walker Valley every year! B):o

I think people get tired of hearing that same old sad song about number of students vs they suppose to win, next year AAA.....etc,etc. When they get on the floor, they still got to play, whether against A,AA,AAA,AAAA.....no matter.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
