Is your only goal in life to convince everybody that Pickett will beat Temple? Every danged thread I have to listen to you talk about how great Pickett is and how much Temple is overrated. Do us all a favor. When your 'boys from Byrdstown' get blown up just stop talking. With how much crap you talk it will be no contest because you're infuriating every Temple player. Not a wise thing to do.

Wise maybe not but pickett will beat temple i dont care where they play!!!!!

Well since this was a thread started last year and somehow found it's way back to the front of the page.I'll give you folks the benefit of the doubt...This was all before any of the East Tennessee fans heard of Union City or Humboldt or had any thoughts of Lake County....I think Grace fans found out last year in the state finals..Union City is better this year,Humboldt is better this year and Lake County is better this year....Have your fun,build up an impressive record,but at the end of the day the two East Tennessee "powerhouses"are playing for second,heck maybe even third,since I personally think two District 14A teams will meet in March for the state championship... :thumb:

Oh yes, didn't Humbold beat Union City a few times? And Lake Co.? If Grace can beat one team from out there, they can play with all of them.

Grace we went thru all of this last year..I thought you would have known better.... :lol: And no,Grace didn't play with Union City last year...Union City "played" with Grace..16 point win in the biggest game of all....And I wouldn't hope too much for a rematch with Humboldt if I was a Grace fan.....Since Union City and Humboldt became 1A,the game has changed..And they may not be the best team in their district....Lake County is pretty dang good themselves....Throw in Middleton and Adamsville and you will know come March the balance of power for basketball supremacy in Tennessee has shifted west of the Tennessee River...Oh,and Union City and Humboldt are still young and Lake County isn't losing much next year either...East Tennessee had it's run,now it's over....

I believe Boyd has a good chance of beating Temple. Its a good game every year and last year Boyd got screwed on a call at the end of the game to lose.

 

i think this year Boyd will win with a big proformance from Cory Lusk and Justin Headden, who has great potential to be a great player.

 

If Boyd can find someone to fill the gap that was created by Josh Benton graduating, I think they can do great things.

      OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.

      They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.

      The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.

      I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
