The Oak Ridge girls remained hot with an impressive win over Jefferson County tonight, who came into the game as the No. 8 team in the AP poll.

Keke Stewart led the Lady Ridgers with 23 points as they improve to 18-6 on the season. Karmen Smith played well, scoring 19. The Lady 'Cats led by as much as 16 in the game and dominated after falling behind early.

Sets up a VERY important game this Friday night, when Oak Ridge visits Powell for first place in district 3-AAA.

Kindof a reality check for Jefferson County. The coach was very upset with the regulars in the first half and played FRESHMAN for the entire third quarter. The upperclassmen got out of the "doghouse" in the fourth and cut the game to four.

Good learning experience for the Lady Patriots. Better now against out of conference teams than on down the line.

Actually, Coach Potts began the 3rd quarter with his starters and played them about a minute or maybe two, then pulled all of them and played his younger players and then reinserted his starters with about 3 mins. left in the 3rd. From the way it looked, the starters kind of quit to start the 3rd and they joined him on the bench. Pretty good wake up call, as they came back in and played very hard from that point on. Hopefully a good lesson, but, of course, only time will tell.
