Chattanooga Middle School basketball

Why is it that the Middle school basketball season in Chattanooga ended in December, whereas the Middle School regular season is just now ending everywhere else. For example in Murfreesboro the regular season ended last night with tournaments starting this week. could this be part of the problem with Chattanooga basketball and it not being as strong as it has been in the past

Although each school is member schools of TMSAA, their county regulates their schedule so that sports do not over lap etc. Their county also will not allow teams to play beyond their own Area/Sectional.

And people wonder why Chattanooga basketball is not as strong as it was back in the 80's and 90's those kids are falling behind everyone else

It is sad in Chattanooga. It is not even a true basketball season. Those guys just go throught the motions. The coaches down there even disgusted.

You can't develop programs or even childrens skill level if the schools system doesn not look at basketball as more than just an intrumaural sport. If they are not going to allow their season to go past December or really stress the importance of competing at the highest level then they just need to send these kids back to junior pro.
