Who are the favorites?

Beech, Hendersonville, and Wilson Central are always the favorites coming in. But you never know what will happen in this district. One of the best districts to watch softball, and one of the most competitive. Beech will be down this year, because of alot of seniors graduating, so a rebuilding year might describe their season.

Beech did lose a large Sr. Class. However, having one of the best pitchers in the state ( Kassie Stanfill), Jr Catcher ( Ashley Norton), returning Shortstop ( Colby Wherry) and several strong contenders at 2nd Base will make them strong up the middle. They have alot of young talent in the Sophomore and Freshmen Classes that will make an impact. In addition Tera Carver as a returning Jr and a couple of Junior addtions to last years team.

 

Don't count them out - they are hungry!

Kassie Stanfill is NOT one of the best pitchers in the state. Maybe in the top twenty. She is good but I could name many better. Beech will be pretty good this year and their shortstop is good probably the best in high school ball.

swingaway, I'll have to differ with you on two points Kassie is one of the top pitchers in the state, ask Soddy, or any of the other teams in last year's AAA state tourney. Colby Wherry the SS is good but not the best in High School ball, not close yet, maybe down the road you will be able to say that but I can think of several that I rank above here.

Wilson Central seems to be strong this year. I saw them beat some pretty impressive teams at the MJ playday! Another team to look out for is MJ. It seems like they are ready to play some ball this year! I can't wait to see results of Central and Beech. That should be a good game!
