Lipscomb should win this district. They are absolutely loaded with pitching. They have at least 6-7 guys that are very good. Coach Smith has a nice problem. He literally can pull a pitcher if he walks 2-3 batters & not fall off any. This pitching staff, barring injuries, should/could take them to Memphis. I think only 2 of those pitchers are seniors. The rest are underclassmen. I just hope there are enough innings for all of these guys. Good luck.

Other than Lipscomb's pitchers and Shrum from Macon Co. this district has really fallen off pitching wise this season. Greenbrier has got lots of really good position players but it's always tough to replace two pitchers like Brown and Norton. By the way Brown threw a complete game shutout last saturday for Trevecca. Macon's catcher is also an excellent player. The surprise team this season could be Station Camp. They were very young last year and gave many district teams several good games.

I completly agree about Station Camp. I hear they have had a complete turnaround from last year and with a new coach, they should cause a lot of problems in the district this year. They practically lost no one and return all starters except their second baseman who transferred to Gallatin. Looks to be another good year for 8AA. Good Luck guys!

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
