Be careful of what you say, on Feb. 18, 2001 as the Daytona 500 was getting underway, I guaranteed that SR would win the Championship! I hope that NASCAR never has to go through this again, but it is a very dangerous sport!

If 3 was still alive and Gordon won 8 he would be considered better.

However, since he died that just kinda places something in everyone that wants to keep him on top.

Gordon didnt have it as ruff in the beginning like Dale, but a race is a race.

He wins without racing dirty like Dale.

Rubbing is racing! Everyone does, only the emperior of NASCAR was not afraid to go for the win, he had his eye on the prize and he honestly drove like 2nd place was the first loser! Dale in no way was a dirty driver, if he had the better car he won the race and yes if you got in his way he would rattle your cage alittle to get around you, but If you knew you could win with a faster car and someone was blocking you, would you let them know that you were back there and you had all intentions of coming around? Dale had a legendary driving style and he never had fear when he was on the track, that is what made him the driver he was! Today, you let a driver hit the wall at 180mph and flip several times, he is not getting back in that car on that day and he will be gun shy for a few weeks, not Dale after his flip at Daytona he got back in the car kept on driving and the next week, he was running 3 and 4 wide in Fontana! After breaking a collar bone in Atlanta, he was back in the car the following week racing until he couldnt stand the pain no more then he gave way to sub driver!

As for if 3 was still alive and Gordon had 8, he would be better? Doubt it, because Dale had really started to return to his old form the year and a half before he died, finishing 2nd in the points in 2000! So who is to say Dale wouldnt have 8 or even 9 now?

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
