Oneida has been one of the most inconsistent teams in the state this year, that is their problem. Oneida would be 21-6 if they would have won all of their games that they had led in the 4th quarter. But they didn't win those games. Oneida, however, has won 6 out of their last 8, but should have won at Harriman, but they gave that game away in the 4th as many others. If the Indians can keep their leads in the 4th they will be a scary team for the rest of the postseason. Oh and they are undefeated, 1-0 thumb

I'll tell you where Oneida stands: IN THE REGION along with 7 other teams where ANYTHING is possible (or anything can happen). If they were terrible, their season would have already ended (like several teams seasons have ended) and they'd be getting for spring sports like baseball, soccer, and track.

There are 4 "above average" teams left from District 4A to move on into the region while District 3A has 2 "above average" teams and 1 that can be very upset minded--just ask Cosby.

Capable of winning region with a good tournament are:

1. Wartburg

2. CAK

3. Rockwood

4. Cosby

5. Oneida

6. Harriman

Capable of pulling off upset

1. Midway

Only team one and done:

1. TSD

And there you have it.

Good luck to all teams involved in action tonight at Wartburg.

Yes the games tonight in Wartburg will be good ones, but to be quiet honest, Harriman has a better chance of beating Rockwood than Onieda does of beating Wartburg. NO dissrespect towards Oneida, I mean they are a very talented team and all but I just don't think that they will pull off the upset tonight in the dog house. Good Luck to all teams tonight though.

To the Oneida boys,

Keep your heads up. I know this season hasn't gone the way you guys or Coach Windle wanted it to. So many reasons why, or excuses, or whatever you want to call it. But, the biggest thing is to not get down on yourselves right now. Yes, you didn't play good versus Wartburg in the District, and didn't make shots when needed against Harriman, and may not have taken care of the ball in the fourth quarter in many games this season. But the fact is that you are still playing basketball. And you will keep playing as long as you love the game, and play every minute with the passion that attracted you to the game. The deal is, that no matter what, it's you on the court playing, not your coach. He can't make the shots for you, he can't pass the ball for you, and he can't rebound the ball for you. You, as a player, must take the responsibility and do that yourself. And when you do step up and take the leadership role within yourself, you will realize how wonderful of a game this truly is. It's only when we've been challenged and overcame that challenge that we really understand the meaning of happiness. You have been challenged all year. Now it is time to reap the benefits of persistence, rather than bowing down to defeat. failure is only failure when you choose to let it defeat you. Remember, their is a purpose behind everything that happens, and maybe the purpose of this season is for you guys, as a team, to grow up and learn how to overcome hardships, so that later in life you will be able to cope with whatever this evil world throws at you. Keep your faith...and you will overcome!

    • Wow, that really stinks. I hate that for you guys.
    • Not sure what you mean? 40 TOTAL? Macon is a good team no doubt, but I believe they've only scored 35 total points against Uppeeman the last two years, and that's over three games.
    • This scenario resonates with the dynamics observed in my hometown of Hartsville. The undue influence of politics on high school sports remains a pervasive issue, detracting from the integrity of athletic programs.  The proliferation of individuals driven by a thirst for power inevitably precipitates the downfall of any program. It appears that we are currently grappling with similar challenges akin to those faced by Greenback. Please accept my condolences for your ordeal.
    • From what we are hearing on the reservation we will be lucky to beat sunbright. And trust me I am not throwing stones at them because they play their hearts out. It’s a tuff game every year, just like Oakdale but when you have small numbers that’s what you get. And then you add in that you loose two top linemen and the starting qb!!!! Along with a running back!  We are in deep trouble.
    • The coach's departure ensued due to the absence of backing from the board members, compounded by the unsettling revelation that one board member persistently surveilled him, verging on conduct akin to harassment. Furthermore, it appears that meeting the expectations of this community remains an unattainable feat, as even a hypothetical scenario of clinching five consecutive state championships would likely not suffice to quell discontent. The current situation is fraught with complications, primarily stemming from applicants for the position who have cultivated relationships with board members known to have opposed the former coach.
