I think I have this right. These two teams have played 9 times in their history, (9 1/2 if you take into account the four overtime game last year). Mt. Juliet has won 8 of these meetings with the only loss coming last year in the district finals when Alysha Clark was injured. So, what does the braintrust (Brandon & Brandon), do to overcome this history tonight? Play it straight up or junk the defense? Match-up zone or collapse down low and take their chances the Lady Bears will have an off night from the perimeter? Or, maybe propose a 6 on 6 game like the old days. It should be a great game and maybe a preview of the region finals?

Boy this one may be close. Especially if Mt. Juliet played like they did last night. If Hendersonville had not of went ice cold in the third, it would have been closer. They missed ALL three's and if it wasn't for Clark they would have been in

T-R-O-U-B-L-E. Come on Lady Bears you've come this far, now take it all.

I'll say MJ by 5 thumb

Well fans of Wilson County basketball we have all gotten what we wanted. Wilson Central vs MJ round 3, i am looking foward to this game, two of the best teams in the state easily, I would have to say Wilson Central played on of the best games of there season last night....atleast the best since Christmas....Sara Williams is back which makes the entire team better and deeper, Gassie stepped it up last night as well doing what she always does making everyone around her better. It should be a battle of the post tonight...Williams and Jenkins vs Mcfarlin and Clark...does it get any better....Jenkins in Mcfarlin are prone to get into foul trouble so look for both teams to attack early. And flngrvy i would have to think Brandon and Brandon have a few tricks up there sleve that will have MJ stumped. It will be a fun one....im picking WC by 3 call me crazy but i have a feeling....This is the first time central has been healthy all year....and remember last years districts(please i do not want to hear someone say oh clark wasnt there you do have a few more players dont you?) .....lets have a good game, the mailman has just delieverd and i hope my girls do the same tonight thumb

Now I want to make sure I've got this straight. Central will win because they are healthy, implying they lost earlier because they weren't. But Mt. Juliet cannot say they lost last year because Clark was hurt.

If Mt. Juliet has "a few more players" then wouldn't stand to reason that Wilson Central would also have "a few more players"?

You had a nice post mailman, but c'mon. Be fair. You can't do a double-dip here.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
