at tennessee tyler should get some playing time and i think that he would fit in with the program.  i am a kentucky fan and on the kentucky recruiting website there was no interest in tyler smith.  im not sure if he is good enough to come in to a big time basketball program and be productive.  im not taking anything away from tyler, he's a great player.  i've seen him play and i think that he fits in there program.

are you sure about that catfish?  that louisville has #1 recruiting class.  duke has a lot of top players committed.  duke has the #3, 19, 28, 78 players in the top 100.

First of all I also think it is highly unlikly that Coach Knight will come to Tennesee but I have a few different views about the situation that some have brought up. First of all I believe that if Coach Knight did not want to come to UT because he didnt want to be over shadowed it would not be because of Phillip Fulmer, in my opinion it would be because of a little lady named Pat Summit and her team the Lady Vols. Pat Summit who has led her team to 6 national championships not to metion being a no.1 this year in the tournament playing without 4 of their super 6 freshman and without Spencer is about to pass the all time career win mark with more wins than Bobby Knight. But maybe I'm just partial to basketball. Not to say the football team wont be good in the next years, I believe they will be a top contender in the near future. Also another thing is that some have said the reason he will not come is because of discipline. Discipline is exactly what Tennessee needs, and I cant think of many better to inforce discipline than Bobby Knight. Although its not likley Coach Knight will come here, I guess we can all dream!

Let's try to think of the positive aspects of this Bobby Knight situation. Try to relate it to this year in South Carolina football when no one said Spurrier would go to the Gamecocks. Well we all know pretty much the whole reason he went their is that he is a big golfer and he wanted to play the golf down their. According to the News Sentinal, Bobby Knight is a big hunter and has heard the hunting in East Tennessee is good. Spurrier was looking for a place to retire. Maybe Knight can look to the University of Tennessee to retire on. And if we can get Knight to come here for even 4 to 5 years I believe the University of Tennessee's stock will be so much higher that even when Knight would retire after coming here Tennessee would get another top coach because they would (hopefully) be a top program in the SEC.

Tyler's dad was quoted that they will wait and see who UT sogns as their new head coach before making any decision. So Hamilton better bring in someone to Tyler's and Lofton's liking or the new coach will lose both of them.

Who cares if they players like the coach Hamiliton picks....Its not their choice. They live with it or leave. Thats whats wrong with Tennessee basketball, trying to please the players and keep them happy. Why do you want to keep them happy when they arent winning?????????

If you don't bring in a good coach, it will start to deter recruits. Next year's recruiting class will be very important for the Vols. Bolivar's Chism and Kemp are a must for the new coach to bring in. Chism isn't even being recruited by UT. Every year we lose valubale in-state recruits to the likes of Florida and other SEC

schools. The coaches they bring in don't believe that Tennessee high school players can be difference makers and they are proved wrong. The part of having a successful team is making sure the players are happy. That is different than catering to their every demand. If UT brings in the right coach with the right attitude toward the quality of basketball players in Tennessee. We could see the likes of Tyler Smith, Jamont Gordon, Willie Kemp, and Wayne Chism all in UT orange.

I'm telling you right now Pierre Niles better be at the top of the new UTK coach's priority list. Kemp is already showing considerable interest in UTK so thats really good.

My opinion about recruiting instate for UTK is that they have never had any consistent success recruiting the big names out of Memphis. I feel like the Jackson area is where it stops in actually getting valuable recruits. Niles is a great player, I just don't think it is feasible for UTK to get him. It is really hard to recruit out of the Memphis area.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
