Hopefully this will be a good one again. I think Webb has the edge because they have been there before. Not sure how the turf plays into things but it's possible it makes BGA a little faster. I do think they have to play mistake free, Webb doesn't make many mistakes, they are very disciplined as you guys know. Ready for a great game!

Looks like there is a chance for rain on Thursday. Hopefully it holds off. The first game between the two was close. BGA had a pick six, kickoff return, and 90 td pass. Not saying those weren't great plays, but I don't expect those plays to happen again in this game. Like what has been said already, BGA has to play close to perfect. It looks like Beeler and Mitchell in the backfield for Webb are clicking on all cylinders.

Well, Well. Let's see who wins the state from two teams that dropped down. Couldn't beat the Ensworths of the world. So drop down. That's awfully big of y'all. Haha!!!

BGA is a legitimate D2-A school (enrollment per TSSAA: 326) that was playing over their heads (and actually doing fairly well) before moving down last year.  Knox Webb, on the other hand (enrollment per TSSAA: 471), is by far the largest school in the division and actually has more students than Ensworth and about the same as Brentwood Academy.  They have become quite adept at beating the pants off of schools less than half their size.  However, unlike BGA, Webb was totally unable to compete at the higher level (did not win a district game their final year) and moved down as soon as they were able.

No shame on BGA - they are competing against schools similar in size and philosophy.   Wonder how many of those gold balls Webb would be bragging about if schools such as Ensworth and BA decided "to play in the division that the TSSAA put them in" as our Knox Webb friends are fond of saying?

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
