who was the big OL/DL kid from the 1987 team? Can't remember a name but he was a freak. Ohh and do you remember Bryant Coleman.....might have been the best running back ever at HC.

Mays graduated in 87'. I believe he was a three year starter so that would have been the 84,85 and 86 seasons. John Bryant qb the 87 season. Some other members of the 87 team Tony Roder, Marty Warren, Michael Moore, Scottie Collier, Waymond Boyd

Waymond Boyd was the freak OL/DL I was thinking about. Very good player. Tony Roder probably played with more heart than any kid I ever seen. What's ever become of those two?

Last I heard Waymond was a police officer in Lewis County. I wonder whatever happened to Coach Cochran from that 84 team. Always thought he was a good man. Heard he may be up around the Upper Cumberland area.

Last I heard was he retired from coaching in Macon County. One of the few coaches with a winning record verse Gary Rankin. What ever happen to Moe Wright?

Not many can say that. Coach Wright has been retired for years and still living in Centerville.

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
