I was curious about this comment. So I went and checked out last year's State Tournament Baseball and Weathers is a gamer! He had two complete game shutouts with 28 Ks and batted 9 for 11 (with 2 homers). Those are almost unbelievable numbers.

His numbers in baseball are unbelievable:

"I definitely want to be at Vanderbilt," said Ryan, who was 9-0 with a 0.11 ERA after allowing one earned run in 63 innings. "It's been my dream school. I look forward to going there. Right now, that's where I'm going.

"If the draft happens, it happens."

Ryan cited a strong relationship with Vanderbilt coach Tim Corbin and associate head coach and pitching coach Scott Brown as key reasons why he signed with Vanderbilt.

He struck out 139 batters with just five walks a year ago and was named the Tennessee Class A Mr. Baseball in helping Loretto win its first Class A baseball state title.

And the son of former major league pitcher David Weathers https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports/high-school/2017/04/05/loretto-ryan-david-weathers-carries-family-name-mound/99999684/

I watch a lot of college baseball and if his numbers translate (which no doubt will since he competes against quality opponents), he should be drafted highly by MLB. I would like to see him play at Vandy, but it would be hard to pass up the opportunity to play immediately in MiLB/MLB.

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
