not only do i remember it but i was coaching when the melee occurred. very scary trying to protect your kids from that crap. tyner/brainerd is one of the great rivalries in all of tennessee high school basketball. very unfortunate that a game like this was marred by such behavior.

I would say that MC and SP both have an outside chance to make some noise in the postseason this year. Better finish first to have an outside shot though, because looming in the other district is Grace, CSAS and Temple. The first place team would avoid the drubbing by grace until the region finals, but would have to beat CSAS. The second place team would have to face grace in the second round and neither has a shot to beat the baptists. After watching MC barley beat signal by i think 1, because of a signal missed free throw at the end, im going to have to say south pitt should beat them easily with a lil good coaching. that tall kid from marion is a sissy and will not post up or play defense 1 time in a game, finnell should win that battle easily. other than that the match ups all favor southpitt. everyone is also forget signal in this district who split with south pitt last year. and have all returning players but was off to a slow start but now back in the swing of things, and will split with marion this year. grace will win it all without a doubt. well someone must think the kid is pretty good bc they signed him to a 4 year ride even if the school is a mid major. i would say a college coach's opinion weighs alot more than some hack from chattanooga. the kid could play for me anyday...come to think of it a team with henegar,robinson,finnel and jones could win a single a state championship...with the right coaching of course. what ya say bout that old pirate?

if mr. robinson and mr. finnell would like to transfer to florida now that their football days are over at sp i will gladly welcome them.

i don't usually respond on a football forum but old pirate is right about this young man. any coach would be proud to coach him and he is a pretty good basketball player as well. if he had been born 200 miles to the north he may very well have wound up wearing a basketball uniform with KENTUCKY on the front of it. congrats to a very deserving,classy and humble young man who represents his fine family,school and community extremely well.

this guy is a solid coach and would be an asset to any school system. a bit of a yankee but still a good one. i would not think he would want to stay in a place where the upper echolon did not want him. too good a coach for that.

i will wind up somewhere there chief...you get spoiled by the way they all love the game and carry pep bands and pep squads to the district and regional tourney...i would almost be an assistant coach up there than be a head coach in football country.

chief my old friend...you must understand the "mindset" of the ky coach...i was one for 7 years...they believe they can go anywhere and produce a winner out of the hat. too bad they realize too late their mistake. just ask korky harrison. on top of that this guy is from eastern ky...can you imagine the culture shock he is going to experience the first day of school at hillwood?

this is the most perfect basketball hire sc has ever made. the redhead loves that school and he will bring a great deal of toughness to the job. just remember kid you owe the old man a game one of these days.

Old Chad Hall was a good one. I enjoyed whipping him at the UK camp in 2001. Great coach. I would like to see Shiloh Edging get a shot. Terrific young coaching mind. Great with young people.

Stacy was a dedicated young man and potentially a good young coach. Look there is no $$$$$ in this business but we do it because we enjoy it. Hate to see him leave the profession. Good luck to those great folks on the "Hill" in finding a replacement.
