  1. Who won? What was the score ECS vs Northside in the final?
  2. Pedro Villegas, Jackson Northside. Is a true striker, but is also spending time playing keeper, still manages to score lots of goals.
  3. We are still at least one soccer generation away from good refs. It is discouraging that soccer officiating is taken so lightly. Would basketball play with only one ref? Would the game count? The bigger problem is refs who have never played soccer. You current players need to become refs as soon as you can. In college, whether you play college soccer or not. The younger players in West TN need you to give back, so they can have fairly officiated games. I am not being sarcastic, I really mean it. We need refs who have played soccer.
  4. Joshua07, Jackson Soccer Club will have tryouts for fall season in June. The highschool boys play from the middle of July to the middle of November. Coaching is excellent: Paul Conway (men's coach at Lambuth) for the u-18's, Simon Duffy (women's coach at Lambuth) for the u-17's and Mark Forrest (just graduated from Union, played professionally in Scotland) for the u-16's. Chris Leonardi, coach at USJ is the coaching director. Last season, we had players from everywhere: Dyersburg, Lexington, Paris, Haywood, all the Jackson schools, etc. What is the best way to get info to you?
  5. Pedro Villegas, forward at Northside has lots of goals and assists already. Also, Kei Kato, is an 8th grader playing well for USJ.
  6. Thanks, that explains it clearly. I will spread the word.
  7. I am assuming CCHS is Chester Co. TCA played a similar game in West Tn this past week. Actually, the refs started out calling the fouls, then got tired of blowing the whistle so much, and let everybody play. One of the refs apologized to our parents after the game, saying "yours is the better team, this is just a bunch of hoods". I have a question, though. In TSSAA rules, are both teams allowed to substitute, regardless of the posession? We have been, but at this game we were not allowed to. Cost us the game. Our keeper was run over, shaken up and had to leave the field because the coach was called out. A sub was put in, while the keeper waited for the next stoppage. But we were not allowed to sub through several throw ins. Our players were kicking the ball out of bounds, thinking the keeper would come in. He was not allowed back on the field until after the other team scored a goal.
  8. Trinity Christian 1-1 McKenzie
  9. When Josh LeNoir is in the goal for Trinity, he is the best keeper in West TN. He plays on the field a lot for high school, keeper for club, and he is in high demand as a guest player at goalie for D1 club teams.
  10. That's great!! I know Will and I am glad he had a "game to remember" already this season. Madison will make its mark this year, you are not idly boasting.
  11. Ray Washington in West TN does is consistent and fair, is a student of the game.
  12. Who is your freshman forward?
  13. Great job girls!!! You are representing TCA well. Keep focused and play with your hearts.
  14. 101.5 out of Jackson can be heard at www.wnws.com. They will be broadcasting the Northside and Trinity games.
  15. TCA 0 Dyersburg 1 TCA 0 JCM 1 TCA 2 Chester Co. 0
  16. You are right, Dick Teubner loves his tigers. Building next door was still burning, and his business ruined when he drove on over to Waverly and did the play by play anyway. Johnny Shaw offered his radio station so the broadcast could happen. Bolivar needed to hear it, since so many people did not get to attend the game.
  17. In West TN, look out for the following young players: Pedro Villegas, Northside Kurt Kroeger, Crockett County Artem Slyusarenko, USJ Cody Mitchell, Jackson Christian Josh LeNoir, Trinity Gilbert Leon, Liberty
  18. Once the game is out of reach, the emphasis changes to using the game to improve players (you get better by playing stronger teams. . . you get better by playing stronger players.) Have been on the low score of blow outs frequently the last 5-6 years. The starters from the weaker team need to play the starters (strong players) from the better team. Once the winning team puts in its second string, the losing team misses out on the benefit.
  19. Pretty sure the game was postponed since school was not in session today.
  20. Listened on the radio. Brentwood was called for one foul in the second half. Game was tied at end of third quarter. Brentwood shot 27 freethrows, Bolivar shot 4(in the entire game.) Amazing that Bolivar was able to hang in there as well as they did.
  21. Jay Murphy, Bolivar Central Is doing a great job at point guard.
  22. Quincy Scates made a significant contribution in points, rebounds, and assists the night Trinity beat Gibson County. Is that the game you watched?
