Guess he's counting his chickens before they hatch. Yes McMinn will probably win easily, but I don't believe I'd make that statement. McMinn can start bragging when they win a playoff game. OS is young, but they are much better than last year and will only continue to get better. Remember Chargers you are only 2 years removed from being that team that got the score ran up on you. You are also a much larger school.

Roane County just voted out three school board members also. The citizens were tired of their voice not being heard. Seems like things like this happen every year. Just a ploy to get county commission to give more money. Its a shame the kids are the ones that lose. I did notice the middle school jamboree was still held this weekend in Cumb. Co.

You all need to lay off this guy. I agree that alot of the parents of kids playing at 6 are in it for themselves, but there are actually kids who want to play baseball instead of watching Spongebob or playing Playstation all day. There is still time to play and go on vacation. If you can find a quality travel ball team, then go for it. In our area the local league is the place where the crazy parents are at. The ones that never played themselves and want to live through their kids. For the most part they rarely receive quality instruction and they are forced to play with kids who build castles in the dirt. If the guy's kid wants to play them so be it.

Coach I believe I would be careful about what I post about my team on a public website. Talking about weeding out "problem children" is not a smart move. Remember, once its in print, its hard to deny.

It is ridiculous that a coach needs to be told these things. To be a good coach this must come naturally. You can't suddenly demand authority in your third year.

I have heard that the oliversprings head coach has applied. Any truth to that? I know he is a young coach and lives close to Meigs. I looked at their district and he plays Alcoa Loudon CAK Sweetwater Rockwood Wartburg McMinn Central and Kingston. They seem to have struggled but he was hired on late in July a year ago and the program looks to be turning around.

Plemons graduated in 94. The year he graduated or his playing ability has nothing to do with this team's win-loss record. Slappy is right. Most if not all of the current players would have been cut from the teams in the early 90's. Plemons works hard. They could practice 24 hours a day and I don't think the record would have been different. Where is all this talent that is roaming the halls. I don't remember anyone playing in middle school that was great and not playing now- except for Hood- now that was a major loss.

Athens is not a weak team. I think Area 1 is the strongest area up there, but area 4 is not far behind. #21 and #33 from Athens are capable of 20 pts + on any night. Also North Middle is a tough team. They are capable of 8 + threes per games, plus they are tough inside. Cherokee who won area 4 (but was a 5 seed) also had a player #40 who at times this season scored 26 points on several occasions, but she was in foul trouble early against Vance.
